Apparently. Even the DBacks were acting like it was a one run game there. That 7th inning was a prime example of what is wrong with baseball for the average fan that can’t stand 3.5 + hr games.

If he looks like shit then have Montgomery start in rehab and push back into starting.

With Morrow in doubt they have to take control of this season and deal with the long term after they free up resources.

Maybe because he is standing behind one of his guys.

I honestly think that they are sorting contingency plans with Morrow out indefinitely. Darvish closing in term would be a good call with Montgomery and Chatwood in fold.

If you think sweeping the Marlins washed away their problems you're fooling yourself..

And to give reasonings why it is not a bad idea.

Closer is high leverage. Yu has that. Rest of the starters lack it

Going by the starting 5. Yu is the loose chain. Rest have been solid.

Going into Chatwood.. well he is spot starting anyways. Montgomery did a solid job last year. This is basically status Que with Darvish utilized to fix the major issue.

I see it as they can skip starts on off days anyways. It would be a 4 man rotation with a spot start when needed. Basically status que.

Having a stable 9th pays off more than the games that Chatwood and Montgomery are needed.

Add to it it might open opertunity for Alozay later year. Spot starter is lower impact than a closer 100% of the time

This will come to head sooner or later.

If you think teams generally win when facing Grienke, you're fooling yourself. We combined the Darbish loss with the "up against Greinke' loss. That's a positive.

Their not gonna put Darvish in the pen and turn to Chatwood and Montgomery as starters...

Just accept the season as it is, it's a transition year

Their gonna ride it out, let the chips fall as they may and make necessary changes at the end of the year

My guess
Maddon Russell Schwarber Almora Happ Morrow Edwards, among others from the bullpen wont be around in 2020

Were gonna see a different team next year
