Cause maybe a scout recently said his swing is one of the worst he has seen in his career? Or that he continues to try to pull everything and has earned his nickname: "4-3", except recently he can barely get the ball to the second baseman.
What makes you believe he won't get back to his career numbers? Usually 26 year olds don't fall off the map.
4 out of 6 since the break, 2 series won from teams with an aggregate .555 winning percentage. Oh and every starting pitcher has pitched well. Let's lay off the doom and gloom for a while shall we?
Like i said before the game, with the way Hendricks is pitching right now you might as well hang the W
We're a different team after that final Pirates game. I was very doom and gloom during our stunning free fall -- but what I didn't consider at the time was we had played 24 games in a row. The Players Union should throw a fit about that. No team should ever play 24 straight games -- its absolutely appalling that it happened.
We were in a rut which was exasperated by injuries and a crippling 24 straight games.
The W flag is flying once again. Now its time for Thed Hoystein to fill our holes and let's see how it shakes out in the post season.

His hands are too high and he swings the bat like a club. I see many 11-12 year old kids that come through my facility who swing similarly. He needs work. Does not understand the relationship of the back elbow being up/coming down correctly. My guess is that he works at it in the offseason and gets back to the .265/.350/.450 hitter he's always been. He was a 6 WAR player a year ago.

I don't remember where I read it but some where I read that they noticed a particular hitch in his swing recently and have been working to iron it out. He's probably never going to have a majestic swing like say Griffey Jr. but clearly in the past he had one that worked well enough for him.
That's believable. His swing is so hands-centric, they aren't tied to his rotation well. The Cubs are saying his top hand is over powering his bottom hand which is causing him to roll over on so many pitches.
