IST: Cubs vs. Mets

More and more lately I've had a problem with Maddon and his batting orders and defensive line up. Today for example, Montero should not be in the line up.
1- Heyward should be in right
2-Almora should be in center
3 Bryant should be in left
4-Baez should be at 3rd
5 Zobrist should be at 2nd
6 Contreras should be catching.

He has Zobrist in right. Not his best position. Has gold glove rightfielder Heyward playing center. Lets face it, hes not as good in center as right. Has Gold glove to be Almora on the bench instead of playing center so Montero can play. Has Baez playing 2nd instead of 3rd where he would be better than Bryant especially with sinker baller Hendricks pitching. Hope it doesn't matter today and we score 15 runs.

He likes Baez at 2B with Hendricks pitching at it's been that way for a while now. As far as the rest it's Maddon being Maddon. If they win you won't care.

He wants Baez and Russell up the middle for Hendricks starts. We talked about this in his last start. Maddon wants his strongest D up the middle when Hendricks starts. Almora is struggling at the plate. If this was a lefty, he would play.

Maddon is taking a beating from cubs fans lately here and elsewhere. I mean he doesn't do things according to the unwritten book but he's always been this way.

I understand his reasoning I just don't agree with it.

Baez at 2B vs 3B is debatable in my eyes at this point. Bryant is actually a pretty decent 3B. Zobrist isn't quite what he used to be at 2B(6.0 UZR/150). Bryant is a 7.8 UZR/150 over his career at 3B. So, arguably this is the best defensive combo the cubs have.

Looking at WAR for pitchers and it's amazing where Kershaw is. 14.1 for 2015-16 and only Jake at 10.5 is in double digits. Kyle Hendricks, 23rd on the list at 5.3, continues to amaze.
