All about defense. Heyward out at home, Arrieta out at home, Russell out at home. Mets score because Bryant take bad angle that turns a double into a triple. Walker is safe by a split second. Their shitty catch bloops one to right. Its like everything and I mean everything goes to the Mets.

The problem in these tough pitching match ups is we are really missing Fowler and Soler because our bench gets weak. But, it wouldnt be so bad if Heyward and Zobrist brought the consistency to this lineup it was suppose to. Besides Zobrist huge month, they have been almost non existent and havent carried or came close to carrying this offense.

Extremely frustrating loss. It represents many of the concerns I have about this team. There are no must win games in July but if the cubs lose tomorrow you have to wonder how it will impact their confidence.

Game drives homes the point I was making last season, OF defense is more important now then in the past. The shift allows you to make up for some inadequacies in IF defense, but in the OF there is just space and if you **** up, you cost your team. One bad play in the OF.

Win tomorrow and they win the series. Fowler needs to come back.

Also Russell is the worst base runner on the team. He has made multiple bad base running decisions this year.

Otheriwse, this team is wildly overrated. They get their "pile on" wins to pad their run differential but couldnt come from behind or win a low scoring game to save their lives. Need a sac fly? Not from these guys. They just contunue to try pulling everything which results in endless ground outs and DP. Maybe Theo needs to look at dumping the hitting coach

No one should be surprised when this team exits the playoffs with a first round sweep. They are clearly not ready for prime time

Pro info, games are not actually lost on one pitch. yes I know. The Mets OFs made plays with their arms and the Cubs OF dicked one up. That does not take away from the point that OF defense is more important than it used to be because, IF defense can be covered more easily.

There is nothing in my post that stated that they lost the game on one play. The point, that you missed, is that they need Fowler back so Bryant does not have to play RF, because it hurts the team defensively. In LF there it does not matter much. It is hard to turn a 2b into a 3b in LF. It is much easier in RF.
