Sosa hit one just off the very top of the fence in an even deeper part of the stadium.

And this was the on decline of his career non steroid version of Sosa. In 1998-2000, he was hitting 530 foot home runs.

He probably just used one of these...no roids, no problem.

He had been bad though for a year and a half. The change had been subpar and he had started giving up more HR. Knowing he was a pitcher available at the deadline I watched part of his last two starts with Texas and there was absolutely nothing that indicated that this guy was lurking in there somewhere. Glad for the resurgence but there was nothing predictable about it.

It seems like some guys just fair better in one league over another, for whatever reason.

That's why I generally refer to him as Corky.

*cough* Jose Quintana *cough*

I just think Q is a solid #3. He'll eat innings over the course of a year, he'll be good some nights, bad others, and give you a chance to win most nights. i just think most nights, he hates the crowds and pressure. Of Q's best starts as a Cub (so game score above 65), 7 of the 10 have come on the road with two of the home ones against garbage lineups (2018 Padres, 2017 Mets).

Post trade, what would you do game 1 of the playoffs against a righty? Let's assume KB is back.

Murphy - 2B
Bryant - 3B
Rizzo - 1B
Baez - SS
Zobrist - LF
Heyward - RF
Contreras - C
P
Almora/Happ - CF

Bench - Almora/Happ, Schwarber, LaStella, Bote, Caratini, Russell
P - Hamels, Lester, Q, Hendricks
RP - Morrow, Strop, Edwards, Cishek, Chavez, Wilson, Montgomery

Post-trade? You think they're trading Schwarber? You have completely omitted him from your lists...

I assumed he meant Lefty to have Schwarber out. Its going to be tough if Murphy and Zobrist are platooning, which was why we wondered why another second baseman was the answer.

Verlander wasn't that bad though, and he was coming off a year where he should have won a Cy Young. I get what you're saying though.

ERA were pretty close. Verlander went 5 games with a .6 WHIP In Houston

Brewers fail to trade for Harvey. Their stupidity is overwhelming.

They can still push and this time not able to revoke. Thus claim gets stuck. That game goes away if the bill is there

Mills showed more in one start than Chatwood showed in 20.
