Jack Skille, Hugh Jessiman, David Pacan traded for Michael Frolik and Alexander Salak from Panthers

Who do they have to replace Seabrook? They have nobody. Why would they trade Seabrook to get a player....like Seabrook? Unless they think they can get like 2 first rounders or something.

Depends on if Seabrook is asking for 6 mil. Or how contract talks are going. I'm about the biggest Seabrook fan there is. Know him off the ice, but if he want's that much cash who knows.

They trade Seabrook this team is fucked.

If the Hawks were to add a "new" Buff, would 65% of this board ***** about the laziness of the new Buff?

Edit: Meet the new Buff, same as the old Buff?

How does dishing of Skille make the Hawks sellers? We aquired a guy with better hands and a better scoring touch. Yes we lost some physicality which sucks but I don't see this as a trade that screams sellers. Skille was never being used right anyways.

Lets wait to see what Frolik does with talent around him and a system that suits him better. I expect good things. And there is nothing wrong with nabbing a RWer. Hawks need help in that area too.

**** I do wish Frolik was more physical though. That is in the back of the head like you said Ton.

They'll love his amazing offensive skills, only to give up the puck in his own defensive slot... like he did the other night.

2 points in 2011?

He played center in Europe (According to hockey's future) LW/RW in QJMHL and NHL. Often compared to Jagr. Nick named "Baby Jagr" in Europe. He's a versatile, play making forward like Sharpie. Perfect fit on a line with Hossa and Kopecky IMO. Move Sharp back with Toews and Kane and allows Bolland to go back to the 3rd line where he shines, maybe with Brouwer and Stalberg? Johnson, Dowell, Bickell, Scott round out the 4th. I like.

Absolutely positive. He was not acquired to be a center -- and if he was, I REALLY question the Hawk's motives here.

Do we really need another finesse guy? Honestly?

I'm sure Frolik will be a fine 2nd line player in his career, maybe even a guy who can step up on the first line... but again, why? I thought it was already established that they wanted to add some grit. I guess not.

Arent Hossa and Kane both RW? Now you have a natural LW to play with one of them. Not sure, but he's no worse than Skille and has already put up more numbers than Skille will so who cares really.

If you want production from Brouwer he's gotta be with a playmaker.

Well, if you can find me a team that is shopping a guy that meets our needs, I'm all ears. The problem is, teams that are setup to make the playoffs, won't be shopping any of those guys. Even if someone was, we have no cap space. I think this trade helps us for the future, as well as likely helping us this season as well.

He also scored right before that as well. You must have missed that. Since you've now slammed him just about everywhere else.

Yea he produced real well with Toews and Kane and neither of those guys are obviously play makers.

Brouwer needs to play physical to be productive. When he's not, he's not productive.

FYI Kaner set him up with a pass the other night, Brouwer didn't have the skill to get it done.

As if Q needed a reason to juggle lines.

This was a great trade. Stan unloaded 2 1st round picks in Skille and Jessiman that haven't lived up to their potential or had the chance to do so in return for a versatile playmaking 1st/2nd line forward. Oh yeah he's on an expiring rookie contract so he was fairly cheap as well and will be an RFA so we'll get the right to match or get draft picks back if he's signed to an offer sheet. What's not to like about this deal?

I can't see a reason not to like this trade, unless you're a Skille fan.

I've read a lot in the past on this board, from you as well RK, about Brouwer needing to be top 6 if you want to see numbers from him when people were complaining about his offensive game.

Read my post. I saw that. That's why I said 2 points. His gaff was the GWG.
