I read that the Rays would probably want 3 of the dodgers elite prospects(Corey Seager, Joc Pederson, and Julio Urias) who all should be top 50 prospects in midseason evaluations for Price. The speculation is that Shark would likely be cheaper but still cost 2 top 50 prospects. It's some what difficult to see that being the case. While I agree in that value, there's just not enough teams in that range with 2 top 50 guys. The Dodgers don't need the pitching that bad so I doubt they go after either him or Price. But other than them, you're talking about the Twins(aren't competitive), Houston(aren't competitive), Red Sox, Rockies, Pirates, KC, Pitt, Miami(doubtful), Phillies(not in contention), Padres(not competitive), O's, Nationals(don't see the need), D-back(out of contention), Braves and Seattle. That covers mlb.com's top 70 prospects from before the year to make it slightly bigger pool. Of the teams that are left over, I don't see the Red Sox doing it. You're paying full retail on a guy when you're not competing. Rockies appear out as well as the cubs are now ahead of them in the WC.
O's(Dylan Bundy, Eduardo Rodriguez, Hunter Harvey)
KC(Kyle Zimmer, Raul Adalberto Mondesi, Jorge Bonifacio)
Pitt(Gregory Polanco, Jameson Taillon, Tyler Glasnow, Austin Meadows, Alen Hanson, Josh Bell)
Braves(Lucas Sims, Christian Bethancourt)
Seattle(Taijuan Walker, D.J. Peterson)
That's basically what you're talking. You might throw in the Jays if you view Norris as a potential top 50 guy(was fringe 100 prior to the season). And if Shark is worth 2 of those types you're talking likely 1 for Hammel.
