Niemi's done OK (at times).
oh he lit it up with the Coyotes as well, but he didn't have a good experience with the Bolts. So many tangibles factor in there it's hard to gauge.
Oh indeed. But I thought he only had one or two solid years there and it was because they didn't have anything else? I hate to say it, but he was always a favorite of mine.
Pirri and Jimmy Hayes have had some success. I think with the young players still developing it takes longer to gauge how they will pan out. It's a lot different though when you are playing on a stacked team vs a majority of the rest of the NHL.
For some of those young guys just getting more ice time to develop is considered success. Jeremy sitting on the bench in Chicago was certainly not doing him well and they could not waive him as he would have been plucked.
It depends on what you mean by success... I mean.... as much as here? Maybe not, but there were a lot of quality guys from that first cup that went on. Ladd become a captain at what is now the Jets... Frazier won a cup with the Kings right? Skille... wait.. no... who else. I'm sure there are a good handful but it's hard to say because the team has had so much sucess lately that it's hard for them to continue that on shitier teams.
there there is Vrbata who is now lighting it up with the twins but that's outside that 5-6 year range.

That guy always killed me. He'd have like 200 shots for the year and 17 goals. No hesitation in shooting the puck.
Rene Borque comes to mind. He had a few flashes in Calgary but just like here his arrogance got him there.
Brouwer as we mentioned didn't have the upside skillset that Morin has but he was much more physical and could drive to the net better. I believe he even dropped the gloves a bit...
Yes, yes he did. This will always be my favorite Brouwer moment, especially at the :18 second mark

Absolutely. He's the only player we "lost" in the 2010 postseason purge that caused me to punch random things.Ladd is one I forgot. He's been great up in Winnipeg. It's a pipe dream, I know, but I'd take him back on the Hawks in a heartbeat.
Versteeg is playing well enough now to actually justify his dumb contract that we're only paying half off... at half he's even more of a bargin. Not sure about that one either. Morin can fight and will. Id probably say physically they are probably pretty close. Again I don't think Q had a spot for Morin to play to show us his skill set in Chicago. He was specifically signed as insurance in case Versteeg didn't pan out the way he has. Even they weren't sure Versteeg would return to form as he has. Most of the Q detractors, related to the organization in some way, were extremely pissed Versteeg (who was just awful) was played over Morin in the Kings series.
Hind sight, and games like last night, the Versteeg move has so far played out VERY WELL.
He leads the Hawks in +/- 14, which having the highest on the team means something even if it's a skewed stats when low one way or the other.
