I thought the same thing. He doesn't look like he's into it mentally for some reason. Usually he plays with a lot of intensity and that's what gets him going. He doesn't seem to have it right now.

Somebody should bring his uncle or grandpa to the game.

I've been saying this alot lately but it looks, to me, like Jo is suffering from contract extension syndrome. It happened to Kirk when he was here. It happened to Lu, as well. For some reason or another, when players sign a big deal, their play tends to become more tight & they start to press more feeling the need to justify their large raise.

Jo needs to get back to basics. Hustle, rebound, & defend. He studied with Hakeem this summer which is great, but he ain't Hakeem & he needs to stop trying to be like him on the offensive end. "Backing down" Dwight Howard in the post? Seriously Noah?

Except somewhere in the middle of that Lu got back on track. I think you're right though, most players when they get that contract either do what you said or they feel that sense of security and just don't try as hard. Seeing as Noah is a hustle guy, I think he's just pressing A LOT. He'll get it together, Thibs will make sure of it. If not...well...this will be a disappointing season.

I expect Jo to get back but there is a quick shot of Noah I saw tonight that I didn't like at all. The trainer popped smelling salts under his nose during a timeout. Christ, hasn't he ever heard of 5-hr energy? He must've been hitting the bong hard all off-season. :smoke:

I think we should trade him as well. He will never be an offensive threat. We have replacement behind him that bring the exact same defensive presence but Asik is bigger, stronger, better rebounder and shot blocker. If we can get a good offensive piece in return its worth the gamble. Plus Gar/Pax need to start clearing cap for extensions for Asik/Taj and you know Reinsdorf doesnt want to go into the luxury tax

I only like his game when he plays with intensity other wise he is nothing more than an average big man.

I broached this topic as soon as the 2010-11 season ended. My poll question was, with Joakim's $11M/yr contract kicking in, and Asik due for an extension, which one do we keep?

http://www.chicitysports.com/forum/...an-only-keep-1-who-do-you-keep-noah-asik.html

I was pretty adamant about keeping Asik over Noah. Board members flamed me like no other:

MRN said: "This is terrible..not even debatable."

RamiTheBullsFan said: "But Noah is way, way, way better than Asik and it is going to be that way for a long, long, long time."

With Joakim playing like crap so far, and getting paid $11M to Asik's $3M, care to eat your words fellas?

Asik is still not a better option than Noah.

I'm allowed to be frustrated with Noah, and not expect the team to bench him for Asik.

Asik could not make that pass to Deng in the final seconds of the Hawks game. He does many things you don´t see on the boxscore.

But when you say he´s not playing good offense, then you´re absolutely right!

No, because we've only played what, like 9-10 games so far? There's still an entire season left to go. Noah might not be playing like we know he can now, but let's be real, Asik is not better than Noah. Cheaper, yes, but when it comes down to pure skills, Noah can do everything Asik can do and then some. That's why he's worth $11 million and Asik is worth $3 million. You can always get another Asik, but a big man who can run the floor and pass like Noah can are hard to find.

Asik and Noah are both overrated.

Noah is bad....and we are giving him $60 million.

lulz.

Asik is garbo.
