So now that Campbell's contract is gone are people going to start hating on Kane and Seabrook the same way? I don't get it.

It's like a sports fan syndrome. The fan bases aren't happy unless they have someone to complain about.

Hahaha bobferg I think I just saw your comment on the SCH website regarding Connolly, right after mine.

:nope: Just wait, man. Imagine the leverage he'd continue to build in the coming days.

Yup. It seems to me that the Hawks paid a slight premium on seabrook (an extra .5 to .75 mil a year) to avoid having yet another decade long contract on the books. That to me is money well spent.

As for turning the Campbell knife on 88 or 7... I'm not going to do it. Kane and Seabrook are top tier tallent in this league and they have contracts that any other team in the league would jump at in a second. Campbell on the other hand, was very good yet overpaid and on a team where the salary cap was practically a homicidal force just 1 year ago. I dont think any intelligent person hates Campbell or can really dump on his game. Most people just didnt like the deal that Hawks management gave him. Thats all.

With the years and dollars that are being thrown around in the 1st hour alone, I'm sorry to say that I highly doubt Richards will be a Hawk.

This may be hard to believe, but it's for real:

Highest D salaries:

Ehrhoff - 10 mil
Chara - 8.5 mil
Keith - 8 mil
Pronger - 7.6 mil
Campbell - 7.142 mil
Wisnewski - 7 mil
Bieksa - 7 mil
Seabrook - 7 mil

Since he isn't coming here, I hope he ends up with the Leafs to be honest.

Ehrhoff's contract is laughable. He's good, but I'd take at least 5 other players over him in a heartbeat. Signs of the FA class this year.
