I'm trying to break this down to the common denominator.

What do posters want? Less moderation? Certain moderators? More contribution without retort? Civil discussion?



A simple revert is impossible. You may be able to get everyone back, but in certain instances the damage has been done.

I cannot get poster A to get along with poster B, and have them both contributing if either of them feel they're existence on here is being compromised. I don't have enough time in the day to mend cyber bridges.



What I do like is airing out the issues at hand. It eliminates the elephant in the room, and we can figure out if we can rectify small issues without people getting red-assed (hopefully).



I'll make a case in point for myself. IcehogsFan and I don't see eye to eye on issues. We are basically polar opposites in NHTA, and really get passionate in our posts. Some one the other day brought it up to me that I "hate" IHF. Not in the slightest. We just don't agree on much that has been posted in the forums. Whooptie-doo. At the end of the day we're still Blackhawks fans. I'm not a person that just has to sit and wait for the next IHF post so I can try to show him up. It's a big house with lots of children. We got this far. Let's try and make it another day.

From what I understand, most of these things are out of the moderating teams control. Most seem to be disappointed in the community evolving into what it is today -- that's something I just can't fix.



The community is responsible for providing an example for the newer members. If the "good" members aren't here to set that example, someone else is going to be doing it. Its no fault but your own if you've given up here.



Now if there is something I can do to help, I've said it, I would gladly look into any requests thrown my way. I'll keep poking through this thread but if anyone has any solid ideas, PM me. I'll let everyone here hash it out and try to come up solutions of my own in the meantime.

I will trust me. You have had an ax to grind since you joined. That was pointed out from several of your first posts on here. It was known. I didn't really give a shit but it's what it was.



I don't need to mod. I can tell you to play in traffic either way. Unlike you just did I'll spell it right out instead of an under lying tone. It's been brought up your intentions here many times but you add or have added since in a different manner from the time you joined.

That post was never about you, it was about Supra, as Paul had just commented on his post about banning Puckjim. I don't have any problem with you. Do we disagree on things, of course, same with a lot of other posters on here. That doesn't mean I have an "agenda", just means we don't agree, doesn't get any deeper than that for me.

I think we all just need to relax and lighten up. If people disagree, as long as there are no personal insults thrown i could give a crap. I mentioned before Kerfluffle grinded my gears, but I didn't think he should be banned, I actually enjoyed debating with him even if he would never support his arguments with any sort of evidence.



If someone is baiting or trolling let em do so, be smart and don't bite if you don't want to get involved. The only poster I ever made a complaint to the mods about was Graham, which in my opinion was well warranted because he was just laying the hammer down on thread after thread just because he didn't agree with them.

On top of that I had to close 2 or 3 threads because they devolved into bashing Fluff. I didn't want to kill those threads at least one of them was a great, great conversation. I wasn't happy I had to do it but it got out of hand.



So I had a choice. Do I keep having to squash good threads and warning good posters or do I get rid of the common denominator? I chose the common denominator.

Did I think he did anything wrong? No not really, his calling out of RK on the day he was banned was a no-no.



Also Jim consider this, this isn't the United States of America. It is the Kingdom of Ton, he can censor any of us for any reason he so chooses, its his board, he is god.



So to sum up I decided to get rid of the bad apple before he spoiled the bunch.

IMO, this is flawed logic because it completely takes away personal responsibility. It's the "Devil made me do it" excuse and this bunch isn't static like a buschel of apples. We all have the choice to cross the line, no one makes us do it. For example it's well known Big Pete and I have had some battles. On occasion I had crossed the line, but it wasn't Pete who made me do it. Sure, we were at eachoter's throats but in the end it was I who chose to take it too far. So I'm sorry Mods, if you must straighten out 10+ "good" posters, so be it for it will have been they who have crossed the line.



Now this is the Kingdom of Ton and the 1st Amednement need not apply, however if this will be the continued method of how to deal with issues that may arise, it's a Kingdom I wish to take no part in.

Let me tell everyone a story of my first ever thread on the Oboards. It was seabs rookie year, I was watching the hawks liked what I saw. I started reading the Oboards and seen a lot of people blasting Seabs. Keep in mind I didn't know much about the Oboards I didn't know that there were idiots and also people that knew what they were talking about. So I made a thread asking what people thought about Seabs and in my original post I mentioned that I found it strange that so many people didn't like his play. I was FUCKING BLASTED and called names for saying that. I took shit from a lot of people. I didn't post on the boards until the year Kane was drafted because I didn't want to get blasted for what I said.

I don't see where I have ineffectively moderated a forum. I'm sure if I have it would have been brought to my attention by my fellow moderators but yet none of them has ever said anything to me. So I guess I'm doing an alright job.

I figured if no one responded in kind, then I must be the only one that had any issues.



Well I'm not the only one, it seems. There are plenty that have commented with similar gripes.



But the most defining sound is the silence of the posters that just don't come by anymore.
