Yet no mention of homo hill or hooker hill?

I was at Camp Humphreys and didn't visit Seoul or the International Village much. I spent most of my time in Anjong Ri next to our base or in Osan next to Osan AFB. But yes, I did make it up to the red light district once on a sight-seeing mission, lol. Actually one other time, a few of us NCOs were driving up to Camp Jackson in Warrior country to visit some of our troops at PLDC and we made a wrong turn and drove through the blue light alley with the girls in the windows...while in uniform and in a company vehicle. Oops. Glad that didn't get on camera and blasted to the media or to our Company Commander. We would have been "Kanered".

He is no longer considered young. There are people younger than he out there dying for this country. I worry about him because he seems to have an issue with making good choices.

Bull to the motherfucking shit!

Read my posts about what I was doing at 25. You all need to get over yourselves and stop being so Puritanical. Single, wealthy, pro athletes, at 23 years old will party. Just like single, relatively poor, working class people, at 23 years old will party.

This notion that he is somehow different or should walk some fine PR line is absurd and THE reason that guys hated playing in NY for many years or certain 2010 Cup winners love the fact that they are no longer in Chicago!

What you did at 25 doesn't mean what he does at 25 is making good choices for a person in his position, or for you in yours. I don't understand that thinking at all or how it makes it all okay. And I don't think that's such an unreasonable thing to ask of a professional athlete, not to get fall down drunk and when you go out or get arrested or cause trouble. Is that really walking some absurd fine PR line? For......anyone?

You only know what a picture told you or what some asshat TABLOID writer told you in an obvious attempt to defame Kane.

Again, for those of you that either forgot what 23 is like for most Americans or choose to think you are or were better than that...it is pretty normal behavior. Just because he is a pro athlete doesn't mean shit. The hollywood 'role models' that make a concerted effort to get thier hoohas on a tabloid cover should be ashamed of themselves. A guy that went to a relatively remote location (compared to a bar in Chicago) to get his party on should not be lambasted for having a good time.

Binge drinking may be 'bad' per the doctors and shrinks, but again, it is very normal behavior for an American between the ages of 18 and 25. If it were not do you really think this country would have so many bars and nightclubs raking in tons of cash?

If I would have made good decisions in my 20's....

Well, I probably would have bored myself.

Why should a pro athlete not be allowed to get fall down drunk? He is held to a higher standard then say, me who continues to get fall down drunk and I am damn near 40?

If Kaner would have inherited 5mill a year, would it be ok for him to fall down drunk?

He is a kid getting paid a HUGE amount of money to play a game. That is it, no more no less.

This WHOLE thing has only come about because some frat boys got completely pissed that Kaner came around and stole their chicks and took pictures.

Those dumb asses running with the Hear Say are dumb asses. At least Tracey Meyers called the Madison DA and PD to find out if ANY charges or complaints were filed. She FOLLOWED UP on the accusations. Which a good Journalist does.

There's having a good time and then getting arrested over a cab fare. That's the sort of stuff I'm talking about. Stupid stuff where if you get lucky, the result of it doesn't haunt you for the rest of your life. He earned that reputation, no one gave it to him to pick on him. If you want to be seen as responsible stop getting flat out drunk in public with the same stupid stories year after year.

But at least it's official now, you answered my question Pete, ages 18-25. Guys, you got precious few more years of saying "He's only X years old, let him have fun.." Soak it up, hopefully Kaner gives you more than enough opportunity to use it and more or less excuse everything he does because he's a "young kid". In a couple years though, he better get some fucking Pull Ups, he'll be a big kid then.

Pete I partied with the "party line" back in the day. I am certainly NOT puritanical. You need to understand what I was trying to get across. The poster asked what age do we stop saying a person is young. I say now. He's not young if you put him in perspective of the global environment. If you look at the US, then there are people who would say he is young. I don't happen to think he's that young, and I do worry about him making the choices he has made that haven't hit the papers. There are people who know some of his behaviors besides RK, which would make them a bit concerned. There are ways to protect himself from fans with cell phones. And really? You're going to use the guys who don't play for the Hawks anymore on me as if I am somehow ignorant??? I KNOW how they feel about leaving Chicago. I also KNOW who wants OUT of Chicago right now. LOL

Kaner has a bullseye on his back. There are ways he can protect himself from "media" and "5 minutes of famers". And just because you are 23 year old male doesn't mean you can't have a problem with alcohol......rehab centers are filled with them.

Do I think he has a problem, no. Do I think he's not thinking, yes. Do I think he's acting like a 23yr old, yes. Do I think he should be acting like a 23yr old, no.

Do I think he did anything wrong, no. Do I think he needs to make better choices, YES. Why, because he chose this life and those decisions with this day in age of medium, it is what it is.

If I would suggest anything it would be to knock it off. Have I, no. Although the 300 emails, texts and questions I've had are enough.

Exactly, I believe in partying when you are young....don't let my daughter see this. Like you said, today is a different world and he has to be carefull with all the amateur reporters everywhere.

Honestly, the biggest thing Pat did wrong was to wear a bright neon shirt with some self-depricating shit on it and make every effort to 'buck the system' in that he chose to walk around a very public place while binge drinking.

Party hard, but sure, try not to bring attention to yourself. Other than that, everyone needs to get off his ass.

But then you are a dad and much more than just a casual aquaintance of his dad's.

Probably one of my best friends. He knows where I stand without me saying a word. Pat is an adult. He'll learn, maybe like some of us the hard way. I'm also sure he doesn't want me explaining anything as I have been asked over and over and over the past week or so. Part of the price I pay for having friends. And, I stick up for my friends as I've already said.

If it were my son I would say exactly what I said above. Other than that, live his life, like he wants to live it.

I hate to bring up Mike Imrem, but he did have a decent article until it went off the rails and he neglected to mention that some people GROW OUT OF being a binge drinker. Instead he too brought up the worst case scenario in his future vision of how Pat Kane will 'finally grow up'. At some point in the next three years Patrick will just get tired of getting drunk like this. Or he will finally pick a steady girlfriend that will encourage him to spend his time in other ways. That's just how it works around these here parts.
