Did the Hawks tell Kane to seek help?

If this article even holds an ounce of weight, perhaps it's time to "hang up" the bottle for the sake of his Blackhawk career. Hate to bump this topic but I thought this article was interesting.

On WLS this morning they did say flat out that the Hawks asked him to get counseling.

So when is he asking to be traded to the Sabres? I mean get counseling for what? The guy is 23, filth rich, and likes to party. Has he played the game drunk? Has it actually effected his on ice performance? Has he been busted for DUI?

Only the Hawks would really know if the drinking is affecting his game. If he's drinking and partying at all the night before games, I don't see how it couldn't affect his play. That's all speculation though. Who the **** knows with this organization. Maybe they just don't like the bad press?(we know McDickhead doesn't).

He should. Then he can coach in the organ-i-zation.

If the Hawks did ask him to seek help, it's typically not for a "minor" problem. A minor problem would include "Hey don't do that again. It's bad publicity. Yada, yada, yada". Seeing help usually is for a problem, whether that be on how to fix his image or maybe to lay off the sauce.

While I don't see him getting tanked in the off season as a big deal, it is interesting how many other players through out the NHL and other leagues do not get caught on camera as bad as Kane has. (Yes I know some do, but I haven't seen any Toews pictures or any Stamkos pics or stories).

Toews was a saint in another life and the Lightning aren't big enough that what Stamkos does matters

Why wait for something like that to happen to say "Yeaaaaaah maybe he's got a bit of a problem and he should get help." Might be too late then. He's already been arrested for stupidity once. Again, how many fucking times are we going to say "He's only ____ years old and rich, let him have fun.." When can we stop saying that? What has to happen? Why would you wait to see when he fucks up and does something stupid (which has already happened) to finally say ok NOW you can get some help, when it looks like it wouldn't exactly do him any harm to seek some help before things get out of hand. Is that really that hard to understand or wrong? Is that really "stepping over the line"? For anyone, let alone a 20 something hockey star with his entire career in front of him?

My take on the Jahns article... but let's start with the sources.

A team source told the Sun-Times that some in the organization have suggested that Kane seek help.

“When is [Kane] going to learn?” another team source said.

My initial reaction is that this comes from from Hawks management. But then there's this...

“Other players look at how they handle a situation like this,” the source said.

It's possible that comes from a player...or management.

What I do believe is that Jahns, like all the local beat writers, does not have the balls to write this unless it's green lighted by the Hawks upper mangement, one way or another. Does that mean McDick is greasing the skids for Kane to be traded? Not necessarily. But their going to hold off on Patrick Kane bobblehead nights.

But it's still OK to have a Bobby Hull hold your ex-wife over a hotel balcony railing bobblehead night. Or a Bobby Hull assault your 2nd ex-wife in a Willowbrook parking lot bobblehead night.

If they are greasing the skids for a trade, my question is what's the return?

Edit: At the time Bobby Hull was assaulting wives, they were not ex's, but at the time current wives. I use this example to point out the utter hypocrisy that current Hawks management will use to market current and former players. I've always wondered why a single writer in Chicago has not questioned Hawks management about the use of this so called Ambasador. That's the perspective of a Father of two daughters.

Great move by the hawks here, they keep there mouth shut and use the Kane situation to deflect the end of another horrible season and the shamble that the front office is by another high profile departure and a coaching staff in turmoil with the front office and then just when everything has passed by because of the non issue it is, they thrust him back into the fire because they miss the spotlight. /sarcasm real classy by the fucking organ-i-zation. If they really cared they would have tried to intervene and give him the support they thought he needed weeks ago when it happened.
