The situation at the end of the Detroit game is a massive red flag that is he not cognitively up to the challenge of being an NFL quarterback.
That was the case before he was drafted but the hype machine won out.

Caleb’s also petulant, whiny and not very intelligent. Or at least not nearly as intelligent as he thinks he is.
You forgot he has literally one move to escape from the pocket. The backwards spin into more pressure or a big sack.

I don't know about the first two, but I spent most of the season questioning Caleb's intelligence on the football field.

It was a bad OL and a worse offense. Still, really concerning the elementary quarterbacking he was failing on.
He always does that. While the guy he replaced was quick to take off, he immediately holds onto the ball to try and make a play

I have been saying all season that you don’t ever see him with his head in the ipad on the sidelines. Who has time when you need to constantly put on the “I’m exhausted and frustrated” performance?

I love when all of these reports of players not living up to standards or working hard enough, everyone has been blamed but the guy with all of the red flags that everyone blew off as bs.

Can’t wait for Adam Jahns 2028 50,000 word column on how toxic this guy really was and no one could do anything because he was the most high profile draft pick in the history of the nfl.

My initial beef with staying at one in that draft is that they are drafting a quarterback with different strengths than Justin Fields, but all the same weaknesses and they didn't really get that right the first time.

....and here we are......

i think what he is saying(i could be mistaken) is that caleb progressively slowed the work ethic down as the season tanked worse and worse. no clue if it is true, just clarifying what i think the claim is

cant say it would be surprising if true, i think most here can understand putting in less effort as things get more gloomy at work
The dudes never quits. This is a bullshit story from a certified r3tard.

But did you see the arm angle he put on that incredible pass that traveled five air yards past the line of scrimmage?????

Kap has had bad takes but this shows his complete lack of football knowledge.

What's going on with Caleb has nothing to do with work ethic. Basically he has used his athletic ability to get himself out of trouble and he could do this in college because he could be the most talented player. This doesn't translate well when other players are also athletically gifted.

You don't just roll out of bed and make the kinds of plays that Caleb has shown when he has shown those flashes. So to say he doesn't work hard is ridiculously dumb.

Caleb needs to be coached to understand he needs to play more on schedule and that he's not going to be able to out-talent his competition.

Bad take by Kap.
So an actual NFL coaching staff? A group of trained intelligent professionals to show the kid how to play QB in this league??????

Crazy idea, but it could work.

Kaplan has been known to throw stuff out there for clicks, views, etc. "Shock radio". Would be curious to get some corroboration on that. It was polar opposite that early in the season as that other guy mentions before Kaplan.

Kaplan is one of those Bears media guys who rides the "Bears QB always sucks" gravy train for easy clicks, views, etc.

The worst thing that can happen for guys like him is taking away the lazy narratives and them having to speak intelligently on Bears football for a change.

So he's trying to convince good coaches to stay away, as are some other media - they fear their gravy train is in jeopardy.

The gravy train is going to get a lot smaller if they don’t get this one right. A lot of fans are about done, the Bears will turn into the Bulls if they fail again. That happens and these guys are going to have trouble making a living off this team. They desperately need a good season or two to insure fan investment for the next 20 years.

Did he really? Fields is a lot of things but a coward is definitely not one of them.
When he unfollowed the Bears on Instagram Kaplan absolutely called him a coward.

Just realized Kap doesn't even answer the question. "Where did this come from?" - "It evolved throughout the season." That doesn't tell us where it came from.
I feel like at times he makes his own questionable observations, then if they happen to get parroted in a social media echo chamber he passes it off as a sourced report.
