Not really, but okay.

You are bragging and trying to show how alpha you are to a complete stranger on the internet about how you run long distance and have a dietitian on a Off topic forum. Yeah, it's a weird flex bro

So to recap: FT thinks keto is a scam because he doesn't understand that your body metabolizes glucose differently than ketones. He doubles down and gets swept at.

Fun, let's do this again sometime.

I don't get involved in these silly threads usually, but I'm willing to bet in the years to come, it will be discovered that these keto diets shorten lives. Which may be good, because you succeed in avoiding the dementia.

Lot of handwringing and chest thumping could be good for your health though. I dunno.

I dont believe this should be a strict lifestyle. I think you can use it in cycles to help jump start. No way would I sustain this diet for life. I am more into it about life style changes and helping me break my love for bread.

I don't think it's a scam. lol wtf?

I've said repeatedly that it works. I use elements of it in my own diet during power phases of my yearly training regimen.

I've called you an idiot because you think it's not a calorie cut..because it is when it comes to weight loss.

You ran away like the ***** you are and are now coming back trying to give some idiotic summation that doesn't even align with what was said.

Keto has been around for a long time in various forms so I don't think there's any bogeyman out there in terms of it's going to cause massive issues other than some thing we know about(kidney stones etc) and there's further research being done on if it helps immune system building and even slows cancer growth(as does I F)(insanely early clinical phases). There could be something out there but at this point it seems pretty safe as a long term choice and at the very least has some valuable components.

Yes. You did, otherwise you wouldn't be losing weight.

Stop being a fucking moron about this.

If you aren't burning more calories than you're taking in on the delta then you gain weight. This isn't even up for debate.

This isn't the same thing as saying someone cut the calories they are taking in.

Holy. Fucking. Hell. Since I don't know their exercise routine, or lackthereof, the easiest assumption is that the lone variable is caloric intake vs burn and therefore it's a cut. In either case it's a cut because the delta ends up being a negative when it was a positive so there is a net loss, which is a cut from the original delta they had!

Nothing inherent about Keto "slows cancer growth"

What slows cancer growth is by stopping the spread of glucose thru your body by not eating carbs. Cancer cells require glucose to spread throughout your body. It's how they "move"

No carbs = no glucose = cancer can't spread.

It's literally science, and not "very early studies" at all.

They are studying Keto diets for possible benefits for it. There are clinical trials involving them. Early ones.

My mother, a cancer survivor, was in one four years ago.

So, you have zero fucking clue what you're talking about. Again.
