I have no issue with how they are handling it.
Ive had the exact injury, it basically ruined my Sr. season in H.S. which sucked.
You can't work around it, you can go half speed and get better; YOU NEED TO REALLY REST THE SHIN.
This was the best option given what we know right now...i've been there physically, and it just gets worse and worse through practicing/pounding on it, and you can't explode off the leg after awhile.

How much is Kevin White's cap hit?
Just wondering. I'm no "capologist" but is there a benefit to just cutting him now before they even have to pay for the surgery? There are still going to be cuts made before regular season and maybe some surprise bargains even. Would it be prudent to free up the cash now and maybe pick up some good players that aren't a fit for their teams new systems?
Or maybe it's just what we need to get Alshon a new contract? Gotta be some options/silver linings here.

If they put him on LTIR I don't think he counts against the cap.
At least he didn't rape anyone like Kane as the Blackhawks will have to carry that cap hit even without him on the roster while he's on trial.
