Scott Boras' job is to represent his clients, and maximize their earnings.

He does it very well. Perhaps no one does it better.

Theo Epstein's job is to build a winning organization, and protect the interests of said organization. That is what he is doing, and he has done it well.

It is not Scott Boras' job to determine when players hit the majors. That is Theo's job. So Boras' opinion on that matter has no relevance. It is time for him to shut up. He will make plenty of money off of Kris Bryant. (And we all know he won't put Bryant's wishes and needs ahead of his own.) #AllAboutBoras

Not really. I mentioned very specific positions and haven't deviated from that. Do you know what MIF is? Hint: it isn't a MILF where I completed the task.

MIF is not specific nor very specific ;)

I agree except for the two bolded. The first we don't know yet. So far all he has shown is how to lose. It is ok to be optimistic though.
Second is outright false and has been shown to be false by me and at least one other in this thread. Boras and all agents work for the Client and do as the Client says.

For Baseball? I agree.

I'm in no mood to debate this, its just too much of a pain in the ass......Let's just say I disagree with the last 6 words.

Theo's decision trumps Boras. Theo is Boras' target when he should be targeting the Player's Union for agreeing to this rule in 1991. Lots of articles coming out now about how to change it.

I don't care if its Spring Training.

Kris Bryant appears to be the real deal. Holy shit.

Hopefully he makes Jose Abreu's rookie season look like a fucking joke.

I gotta be honest...he could be my favorite player ever on the Cubs. As a hater I don't even mind my man crush on him. :)

If we really feel like his position is in the outfield on this club, then the PA has zero chance of filing successful grievance against the Cubs. The kid has never played a game at 3B at the MLB level...and now we are switching his position (possibly) for organizational depth, and to allow Addy Russell a spot at 3B possibly so all the kids can play together.

"Yeah kid...I know you've never played it before...just go play on Opening Day out there and see what happens."

And if they put him in the minors to learn LF and bring him up after 12 days that would be almost as if they started him on the Big League Roster with no experience from Day#1. They may not win, but they have a case.

You're not going to see Russell too soon and if you see in him 2015 it will likely be at 2B not 3B. I do think that Bryant is destined for LF eventually but chances are he starts at 3B unless Olt starts hot. All things being equal I think the Cubs would like to see Addison Russell play the full season at AAA and then we can play this same service time dance with him next year. the difference is that I think if they are competing and they need him they'll call him up making that all moot.

I can't believe people are flipping out about 12 games or whatever it is.

I'm sure the Cubs can make it up to Kris over the next 7 years.

I think it more so that their worried that if he is the real deal, that he and boras will hold this over their heads when it comes to negotiating an extension in 5 + years and risk losing him when he a FA in 2021 at age 29 and in his prime. ..

I feel the same way about Bryant as I did when Tuffy Rhodes hit 3 or Kerry Wood dominated the Astros... Give it time, pitchers will adjust, let's see what correction Bryant makes when that happens he may struggle
