Would be fine if the Blazers would take Deng. They don't want him though (and understandably so as they have both Batum and Matthews in place at the wings). Obviously they don't want Boozer either so then options become very limited in terms of trades. Maybe if they want to rebuild we can give them Taj, Rip, and #20 plus the Bobcats pick, but I doubt we could get away with such a robbery even if they did want to rebuild.

Your trade fails to show up btw.

Deng and Robinson 2 Portland. LA 2 Bulls and Houston cap space and #20 pick. Maybe throw another pick in. If portland wanted to they could prob try to ship deng. Rockets get space to go after Dwight. Portland could probably trade Deng for Picks and build toward the future

Well if Portland wanted to take Deng to ship him off to someone else, we might as well do a 3 team trade with that team.

People, stop bringing up Carlos Boozer!!! Aldridge is a 27 year old who can score 20ppg with his back to the basket. You don't trade THAT for Boozer.

What about that Charlotte pick?

I would argue that Aldridge is a 20ppg scorer on lots of midrange jumpers and the occasional post move, but otherwise, yes.

I would do the Bobcats pick + Deng for Aldridge, but they don't want Deng. This really creates issues in making a trade since our assets are limited. I doubt they'd take Taj, Rip, Bobcats pick, and #20. Our options are fairly limited.

Can we trade the rights to Mirotic? He'd be worth more to a rebuilding team than Boozer, and if we had Aldridge we wouldn't need a third expensive big man

Boozer, Mirotic's rights, +a pick for Aldridge would help them re-build and give them a big to trot out this year

Yes, we can.

I would do that trade, but I also would ask for a future protected(capped at 18/12) 1st rounder in return(we need to compile some picks to ease our cap situation).

You'd think people would have learned after the Raptors wouldn't even trade Bargnani for him.

What this comes down to is how bad he wants to play in Chicago. If he WANTS to play here, he will. If he says he just wants to play there and doesn't want to play for anyone else, Portland won't have much of a choice. If they want something in return, they will have to trade him to us because another team isn't going to give up pieces for a guy that doesn't even want to play for them. It all comes down to how bad he wants it. Plus this is how negotiations work. You ask someone want they want and most people will throw out something crazy and you work it down from there.

I dunno I just read they turned down Cleveland's offer of picks 1 & 19 for him...

I feel like Boozer + Mirotic + the Charlotte pick + our 20th this year could feasibly be fair. But only if they're really looking to rebuild and wait on Mirotic

A little more research showed that while Aldridge shoots a lot more jumpers than Boozer, he also makes a lot more jumpers than Boozer percentage-wise. That's basically what those shot charts show...Aldridge shoots about 7-8% better from midrange. Except for the right baseline...he shoots that like 20% better almost.
