People have a fundamental misunderstanding of how NFL defenses adapted to what seemed like the inevitability of half the games each week featuring two teams scoring more than forty points each. Remember that Chiefs vs Rams game on Monday Night Football in 2018 and how everyone said THAT was the future? The Chiefs have scored more than forty points in a game only twice since. The Rams havent scored over forty at all since.

This happened because defensive coordinators realized that in order to beat these offenses that look to score quick the best strategy (by far) was to take away the big play and force opponents to put together fifteen-ish play scoring drives if they wanted to get in the endzone. That's a lot of plays to go without somebody on offense making catastrophic mistake resulting in a turnover or a holding penalty creating a 1st & 20 or 2nd & 20 situation (basically a death sentence for a touchdown drive).

By and large this has worked, but it will give the illusion that a defense is playing poorly because they give up more than a dozen first downs in just one half of football. Or that the sack numbers aren't where you'd expect them to be.

That said Mack has underperformed since his relatively impressive start and Quinn basically disappeared the same time the Bears loss-streak developed.

More ammunition to fire everyone. Pace's Mack trade looking dumber every week. The incompetence of the organization may deter FAs if management isn't purged: "Come to the Bears and kill your HoF chances."

You guys mean Khalil "No Impact" Mack?

Aaron Donald leading the NFL in sacks. Please don't ever mention mack in the same sentence as this guy again. On top of that didn't we use Donald's contract to pay this asshole slightly more?

Rams look like they have a real coach. Bears have a fraud that still struggles on who is responsible for getting Kmet more involved.

Neither is Mack.
Mack is one of the best players in the NFL. Comparing stickman Floyd to Mack is fucking ridiculous. Floyd is playing with a future hall of famer, probably one of the best to every play the position, save Warren Sapp. Mack has who? The dude gets triple teamed, double teamed, chipped and I am almost certain he's playing injured. Add to the fact that he's playing from behind in almost every game, in a soft scheme, for a loser coach. Mack never quits though. I am sure if you polled every offensive coordinator in the NFL they all scheme to take him out of the game.

Where would the Bears ever find a talented up and comer like Staley? That's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Oh he was on the Bears coaching staff in 2018? Ouch.
