Good to see you are okay with the Bears having a top 5 draft slot in 2022 and 2023 and not being able to up use them. Trading down is the best and smartest thing the Bears could do this draft. They may have to go with Foles as the starter he is signed and is cheap. Why trade for Mariota for one season....he isn’t the future by any stretch especially with this offensive line
I don't know what you mean with " having a top 5 draft slot in 22 and 23 and not being able to use them". I don't think Mariota is the future unless the future is next year. The Bears have to put someone at quarterback

If the Bears are trading up to draft a quarterback they are going to be bad for a couple years. Get it?
If Mariota is not the future or you just want him for 1 year, why waste draft currency to get him?
the Bears have Foles signed for next year, there is your someone at quarterback. Until they release Foles, you have to assume he will be your quarterback

Why would Houston draft a quarterback that is worse than the quarterback they have?
Why do we want a player another team doesn’t want?

If you can't understand this then I can't help you. Sorry

I agree you can’t help because it makes zero sense.

Are you oblivious that Houston will be moving on from Watson due to their absolutely horrible decision making in angering him? Where the fuck have you been?

Tua isn't some trash because Miami got a bona-fide franchise QB in Watson. Houston may decide to decline Tua because they would get 1 more year of a rookie QB contract at cheap or they may like another prospect better. Tua had zero off- season while being injured and playing on a team with very little offensive talent and still had a high 80's passer rating. He'll be fine.

Is Dak not an option ? Not sure why the Bears wouldn’t be all in on a pro bowl QB that requires zero draft compensation ?

Another guy pace passed on 3 times in the 4th round for a bunch of stiffs

My guess is his 30-35 mil salary demand will by just a tad tough to fit into our cap structure....oh....and dallas will tag him anyway

So did 31 other teams.

So?

And dallas is not letting him go anywhere, although they should if they knew what was best for them.

But our dipshit had 3 4th round picks and 0 young qb's on the roster.

If ever there was a time to "waste " a mid round pick on a qb that was the time....esp since he had a 2nd ish round grade but slid because of some Marijuana issue if I remember correctly.

Instead he took 3 useless picks and two of whom he hoped would be great special teams contributors because they blocked kicks at a low level d2 program....smart!

Jimmy G is almost certainly going to be released, he's got about $25mil in non-guaranteed money and it's tough to see anyone trading for him and then paying him $28mil for one year or extending him.
Don’t put it past pace

So are you saying that Pace/Nagy's plan is to bottom out next year so that the new head coach and GM will have a high draft choice in which they can pick a QB?

I don’t think they have a choice.....have you noticed any improvement of this team in the last 2 years?
this team will be lucky to be 6-11.

I suggested the QB casserole long ago. If the Bears would get all the QBs in a big casserole we would ruin them all at once and then nobody would have a good QB and we would be on an even playing field. Seems like a better plan than ruining them one at a time on the QB carousel.

Statistically, the Bears offense was pretty much identical in 2018 and 2020 both years were better than 2019. The main difference has been the steady decline of the defense from 2018 to 2020.

Whatever we think the bears record will be next year is irrelevant to what I think Pace and Nagy will do to try and keep their jobs and I don't think tanking is in their plans

That is an absolutely horrendous list but i think a great spot for Stafford is Indy. That team is ready to win now and dont need to be held back by waiting for some rookie to develop. If im Stafford i really push for a trade there.
They got the Jimmy G part right.
