Mad about what?

Thats fine if you like them and all, but they aren't all that good, and they aren't my cup of tea. Plus I think most Audi models look hideous, and if someone like KIA released the same exact bodystyles, it would get a lot more criticism for it's ugliness.

Then again, I don't have a problem getting 250k+ out of my cars on low maintenance. Well, that's unfair, because Audi doesn't have that kind of reliability across the board, just a few select model and years. And Audi doesn't have low maintenance low cost of ownership at all.

But I did almost buy a 1982 Quattro for a project in the summer. Unfortunately, to restore the drivetrain could have bought me a collectors car. I still might do my Gene Hunt project car, but it would have to be a different motor/tranny.

I watched an episode of Wheeler Dealers yesterday and they fixed up a 1986 Audi Quattro, the 80s icon looked like it was ahead of it's time I hope Audi brings it back.

The Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford and Chrysler's interiors are plastic shit compared to Audi's beautiful interiors.

Well Audis costs 3 times more than a Chevy, Ford, or Chryslers. Cadillacs on the other hand are mobile pigs with lipstick on. Way overpriced.

Man some of you guys can really afford nice high end luxury cars. Props to you all. I'm happy though with a Ford Edge and Honda Fit. Two solid brands that get my family and I from point A to point B. However if I had the dough, after hearing about the R8, I would definitely look into it! It's a beauty! Was never a fan of Mercedes or BMWs, but those Audis are nice.

The toyota 22RE is the greatest engine ever built. Fucking tank. It would take a shotgun to put one of those outta commission.

Agreed. My first car was an '85 Celica GT (last year of the RWD Celicas!) with a 22RE. Toyota has a laundry list of bulletproof motors. Volvo's B-series engine was a hauss, as well.

Why overpay for a shitbox Mercedes that hundreds of other people own, when you can be a connoisseur and intimidate other motorists. If I'm going to overpay for a vehicle I have to work on constantly, it will be a real vehicle:

Mine was a 1978 Toyota Corolla, paid $150 for it w/150K miles...drove it for 20K and sold it back for $100.

Car had zero pick-up but ran forever.

I don't get why people think they need AWD. Its nice and all, but who wants to maintain that shit? And imo, its totally unnecessary in the age of FWD cars.

Had a 88 coralla... Thanks to road salt, the body rusted off the frame and was about to hit the ground at over 300k miles. It was a sad thing to take a car to the junkyard with a motor that fired on a 1/4 crank and ran like a champ.

Ditto here, it was the only time I ever actually drove a car to that old junkyard we all see on TV here in Chicago...Victory auto wreckers!.

To this day, the best vehicle ever owned was a Toyota Tundra. That truck would downshift to pass at 85, unlike GM Toyota factory installed the performance computer chips etc.

Exactly. Everyone is different. It's not like there is one super-guru car-nut that decides which is what and best for who.

I even have this odd theory that some vehicles last a lot longer in some hands than others, regardless of how well a person takes care of a car. My mother drives with her foot off the gas from a standstill, has an infinite number of habits that she isn't even aware of, turns a specific way, brakes a specific way, throttles at slightly different points, and likes to drive at certain speeds, sits in her position, and takes specific roads. How is she going to compare to another completely responsible, but entirely different driver, habitually? She will like driving a different car, and the car that suits her habits best, will be the car that is safest for her as well, regardless of independent crash research.

It's like those people who own the infamous second generation Explorers to this date. How did the damn thing last so long, how did they stay so safe? Well beats me, but the car fits their styles. When I see any Dodge Neon still on the road, my mind is blown. When I see the 5th generation Preludes on the road, I'm shocked. 2nd gen Altimas, 2nd gen Cavaliers and really any 3.4L LQ1 v6 Chevy too. HOW? An entire fluke? I'm willing to bet they were just the right cars for those people(at least the original owners that broke them in.) Maybe Dews will back me up on this one, but damn, you could go to yards and auctions, maybe even still to this day, and always see a cherry Jaguar XJ with maybe some cracks in the leather interior, and that's it. They are some of the least reliable cars period, but they suit some people like bacon and eggs.

first off in my garage i have my first car that I bought on my own in 1999. a 250,000 mile chevy cavalier. it is what it is or was, just a cavalier...no mods and the ****** still runs. I hold onto it as it was my first car. what it needs is a tune-up. it has had regular maintence. and the shit is cheap to do! maybe one day if I ever become big or have a partner in business that can do the restore side of things I may make that ****** fast.

As far as the jags are concerned they are out there. Even dealers auction them cheap as **** as blackbook and the auction are not fans of the jag. luxury car that is cheap and somewhat cheaper than most luxury cars to fix. i love the look

My cousin Connie has a 69 Yenko 427... when I say cousin he's 70 years old now...
Single owner... bought it new... My Dad and some others told him he was CRAZY to pay over 6K for a car when he bought it... I guess new cars were about 2.5K then...

Who's laughing now...

His only regret is he didn't get AC... I guess it would be worth more... he did get the Heads upgrade... Ls or Lt somthing like that which he said is worth more.

The car is Cherry... like new... one owner... he said he would sell it someday but my Dad says' he will be buried in it...

Most dependable cars I've owned are a old school Rabbit GTI, and second Gen Mazda RX7 convertible, Toyota Tacoma, and Honda Odysee..
All very nice... had a Caddy STS I loved as well... don't know where they get the bad rep cause that car was care free, flawless, insane power, fantastic highway car... really nice sounding Bose system, and I got one with 50K miles on it for 14K that sold new for 57K. In AZ they are a dime a dozen... the old buy a new one, trade in the old one, I buy the old one that still looks like a new one... they don't drive them hard except to IHOP on Sundays.

This may have been true years ago, but Cadillac is actually making some pretty nice stuff these days. Considering for what you can get for around $60K (putting you in the same class basically as a BMW M5 or Merc E63 AMG), I would say they are anything but overpriced.

Love the CTS's...
When my STS went in for an oil change the guy told me they could flush and do all the lines, grease whatever cause it hit 80K and they did it under warrenty.
Took a day so they gave my a new CTS to drive... (sales tactic in AZ)... anyway it was the V6 with 300 Horse and I couldn't believe how great that car was for 40K.

The new ones have AWD... same with the CTS-V.... which will now smoke the 2011 in this video...

I think they are great... and for the money it's not even close...

The CTS-V's I think are right around 550HP. With a 6 speed manual transmission. In a fucking Cadillac. For about 60 grand. Lol. How anyone call call that "overpriced" when looking at comparables, I have no idea.

The CTS-Vs are titties. My buddy bought a '13 CTS-V wagon a few weeks ago. One of the sickest cars I've ever had the pleasure to drive. White diamond tricoat with the Recaro interior, suede appointment package and UltraView sunroof. He just ordered some 19x9.5/19x10 HRE P40SCs and is having a custom air ride setup mocked up for it as we speak.
