Would I get married, sure...
Would I get married to someone expecting X amount of income and lifestyle and support for 2/3 kids without pitching in, probably not at this point since to live where I would feel comfortable raising kids in Chicagoland i've figured you need about 150,000/yr in income and I am not making close to that myself right now.
No, I am not going to fucking wing it and end up living in some shitty condo in a shitty school district where my kids will be around shitty kids and have little to no chance of having the opportunities I had educationally. It kind of sucks for those who have partners already at my age, but that is why many upper middle class or upper middle class aspirants are now delaying family formation so long.
Who the fk has the money for this shit unless daddy and mommy are writing 5 figure checks constantly (as a lot of Chicago area parents do) and/or you're cool with living like Roseanne. Ok, I know a few people who can do it at 25-34 yrs of age, but to be honest, those people work so much and obsess so much about work, they wouldn't the best candidates for marriage/families anyway. That's the dichotomy of the West right now and why birthrates are staggeringly low.
