You serious?
You could say the same now
I agree. I mean how the 50s, on some level were glamorized. We all know the skeletons in the closet of those years, I'm just trying to understand of this type of relationship was more relevant then. I know a lot of housewives took speed and such.
Ok, so it will be flamed by the usual bunch but I figure I'd ask.
How is marriage life, for those that are involved that deeply? Are you happy? Did you set out in life to find someone you connect with? Or did you settle for a Frank Wheeler in Revolutionary Road and hope for the best? Did it work out for you?
I'm getting older and I like the idea of marriage; but after seeing at 17-18 years old, so many housewives screwing around with personal trainers and such while husbands worked to provide.. And THEN come in at nights with their family to get another workout in, I've been very sorry about the idea of marriage.
Or seeing a married woman at a var(last night) be so full blown flirtatious with some guy that I may know, who was not her husband. I have become somewhat.. Not cool w the idea of it(not just one instance). And I know a bud who's a male stripper who's banged bachelorettes(serious) and it's made me have zero remote interest in idea of marriage. Or a guy I know through a friend who was banging a woman and making sex tapes while her husband was battling cancer(**** you If you think I'm full of shit), shit has messed my mind.
Nothing's happened to me directly, but I figure id ask because I say 70% on here are older than me; and we don't know eachother. Did it work out for the best? Is there trust? Etc
I don't, I grew up in a great household but all of my parents friends were very religious. I was raised catholic, and my mom was very religious, dad not so much. But seeing their friends live through marriages they had was sad.
and you feel they wre pressured to stay married by the church they went to?

This year will be 20yrs for us. The first 10 were great, the next 5 weren't but the last 5 have been the best years of our marriage. I take most of the blame for our bad years, most but not all the blame. The thing about marriage is that it isn't always smooth sailing and people decide its easier to bail then to work through their issues. The end result is now I have someone who I can be completely transparent to. That is special and you wont even realize it until the relationship develops to depths you didn't realize it could. If my wife died tomorrow I would literally feel incomplete.
Your main concern seems to be a cheating wife. If your woman is cheating on you then chances are there is a problem with your marriage that led her to cheating. Rarely is cheating the event that caused problems in the marriage but it is the thing to finally end it. Many guys think that providing is their main job and end up neglecting their wife in the process of focusing all their energy on that goal. Others end up spending their free time with bros instead of their wives? Most women care more about being emotionally fulfilled than anything else and if they aren't getting that from their husband... Shit happens to satisfy those needs. My wife has never cheated that I know of but if it happened I'm sure I would be furious and after a cooling down period I would have to take a hard look at her, me and our marriage to figure out what led to that. ( if it was a man she cheated with, I gave her permission to have affairs with other women a long time ago.... She never has and refuses to though )
TLDR: marriage is good but work, cheating is a symptom of other issues, my wife refuses to much carpet.
Bro, you want me to come whoop Jorah's ass for you?

My post reads like "if your woman cheats then its your fault". That isnt what I meant but only as a husband make sure you are making her the priority in your life is important.
Well from what I've seen its women looking damn good, feeling good about their bodies after a few kids and really loving the attention of younger guys in their 20s. Add that to maybe a "midlife crisis" and you have a recipe for some women to cheat and capture some of the youth they may have sold for comfort and stability.
Just what I have noticed.
But yes, otherwise I00% agree w you.

*Edit
Some guys just aren't capable of satisfying that need.
