I am the exact opposite. Of all the marriages I am on good relationships with only one is in trouble and they are working thru it.

Dude, I live right by Plainfield.

You ever go to Taphouse?

Have fun, GPP!;)

You treat your woman right and fulfill those cravings, than you don't have to worry about it. Also I'm not a toad, so I trust my future wife to be faithful.

The most important thing is that both people have to have the same perception/definition of what marriage and meet the expectations. For example, one couple I know spends very little time together, and both do their own thing. However, the short time they do spend together, they have a LOT of fun. This is the only very happy marriage I know of right now, and they have been married 30 year.

Most marriages I know of, one partner is far more demanding than the other, and it's one sided as far as give/take. Any normal human being can only take a one sided relationship for so long.

I never understood why certain people have to be married to be happy. I am one of those that is VERY HAPPY being single. I've been through marriage, have some great kids and am very happy being single. I enjoy dating women and spending time with, I have a few very close female friends.

Also, most married women are fucking fantastic in bed !!! It's like they CRAVE having sex, and it is much easier to get them in bed.

The bolded is very true, the past relationships I had we weren't on the same page and had very different expectations...hence why nothing came out of them. With my fiancee, we are on the same page and want the same things and know what to expect from each other. Couldn't ask for more in my life.

I do not believe that, you come from a very religious background. I know that lifestyle, and the fear of GOD bullshit that religious couples do. Staying in a marriage due to the fear of God and social pressure is not marriage.

Let me clarify, I do believe you believing they are happy. I just don't believe they are, not calling you a liar.

He didn't get voted out, idiot.

Also technically our doctrine states that living with your partner outside of marriage is a sin, so doing it for 4-5 years is kind of a "**** you" to the church. Lutherans/Catholics, all types of churches still consider excommunicating members for openly leading sinful lives and refusing to change their ways when confronted about it. I just thought it was funny. You don't need to get all crazy and derail the thread more LOL.

Not all couples in church stay together just because of "fear of God" and whatever. I know many church couples who are genuinely happy together. Not every relationship is perfect, but they're willing to work through whatever issues they come across.

I also know quite a few church couples who have gotten divorced. I guess ain't no "fear of God" in them lol.

I checked out Tap House Menu. Keep it. Pre-cooked bacon. Pass.

I've been by Mojo, but no there for a meal...yet.

No, I moved there about 8 years ago.

That is great gpphat, you are a lucky guy. I hope you can both maintain the same expectations over time as well, or grow them together.

It's primarily social pressure of the Church, and it can be very very intense social pressure. People outside of the Church don't often have such social pressure.

I would say the same for you. YOu believe you know of only one good one but there are others I am sure.

You can doubt all you want though. Totally your right. But for me the couples are more than just people I "know", I would call the couples I know good friends, welcome to my home, allowed to take care of my kids, and someone I would and have called upon when I need assistance.

Not sure what church you go to, but I would avoid it.
