Why would it be impossible for the Bulls to use the MLE this year and next year?

IF I am wrong- I do apologize in advance and didn't mean to be an asshole about it.

I was under the assumption you can't be in luxury tax back to back years and use the full MLE both years.

I think you are thinking of the bi-annual. You get that every two years and cannot use it if you are over the Apron.

Ah. I think you are right and my apologies. I'll take the L on this one as well.

There is nothing to apologize about. I don't think you are being an "asshole" at all. I know the NBA CBA really well. Don't know the NFL or MLB ones. No one can know everything. I try to help people out with NBA CBA knowledge and I let others help me with MLB/NFL CBA knowledge.

I hope you don't think I am being an "asshole" to you.

Between the draft and snagging Dunleavy, the Bulls have added three guys who can shoot. It's somewhat exciting to think we may actually be able to spread the floor this year! Well, maybe we could if Thibs ever played rookies. Still, Dunleavy is a solid three point shooter and a guy who will mesh well with the culture of this team. Still a bit bummed out that the used our entire tax payers MLE to get just him. Looks like we'll be playing with 13 guys on the roster the entire year to stay below the luxury tax yet again.

Brand
Deng
Boozer
Duhon
Williams
Reddick (ORL mtched his offer sheet)

And how many titles? 0 I like the signing and all, but why do they have a hard on for Duke players? As a UNC die hard, this is most disheartening to say the least.

Well Battier has now won 2 titles so I guess has something everyone else doesn't (Lebron for a teammate).

I don't think they should actively avoid Duke players. Do you think this is anything but a coincidence? (also, is it fair to say Deng and Brand worked out?)

This is a good signing. We need better shooters to spread the floor for Rose. Dunleavy provides that & for a low cost. The Bulls were not going to make a big splash in free agency with our cap situation the way it is. I'm 100% fine with this. Now Ron Adams being let go was some serious bull but there's a whole other thread to voice my displeasure over that in.

Harrison Barnes
Ed Davis
Vince Carter
Wayne Ellington
Raymond Felton
Danny Green
Tyler Hansbrough
John Henson
Ty Lawson
Kendall Marshall
Antawn Jamison

(I conveniently left out Brendan Haywood.)

So -- what's your point? Don't let collegiate alliances effect your NBA team. I like Dunleavy b/c he shot 42%+ from 3pt last year and looked good in the short playoff run this last season, not solely b/c he's a Dukie.

You forgot Michael Jordan or James Worthy...

What.. I'm a Carolina fan... deal with it.

Edit: Oh and found this : Through the entire history of the NBA, a total of 29 titles have been won by 14 former Tar Heels. According to Fox Sports Florida, that is the most by any college—above UCLA (26), Ohio State (25), San Francisco (25), Minnesota (18) and Kentucky (17).

I don't get it...anything Dunleavy can do Korver can do. They're basically the same player except Dunleavy rebounds a little bit better and Korver hits 3s a lot better.

He just told you he thought he was smarter with better passing ability...
