Yeah.. NY Daily News just said the Jets don't believe Glennon is worth $14 mil but think the Bears are willing to pay that. The probability of Glennon is starting to get higher.

Sounds like loser talk. We didn't really want him anyway. Lets move on to Tyrod Taylor. You're our 2nd choice but we really want you.

I was worried about Pace bending to pressure from Fox to get a veteran in and try to save Fox's hide this year. So long as he drafts a QB early I can live with it. Also if the rookie beats out Glennon in camp they better not let money keep the rookie on the bench.

Cutler is better than Glennon, but its a good bottom out Lamar Jackson signing and will keep Pace busy adding talents in draft instead of mortgaging future in QB hunt.

The problem isn't Mike Glennon. It's that money. It better not be anywhere above 11 mil. It just can't be. It can't.

I expect an incentivized contract starting in the 12s but obviously a guess.

I would personally go Hoyer and a rookie as my preference. Hoyer costs less and less likely to block a rookie. But I can see why they would go Glennon, tons of cap space and gives a chance to see what Glennon can do. You never know he could turn out to be the answer, they already know Hoyer is not. I just hope that they won't let Glennon's contract or veteran status block a rookie if the rookie is outperforming him or else the fanbase will disembowel Fox.

Rask you keep saying this about Jackson. He isn't going to be a QB in the NFL. I'm not saying he's going to be a bust, I mean he's not going to play the position of QB at all.

Even if he was, it makes absolutely no sense to be terrified of the top QBs in this class but be confident about his skillset translating.

Right. If they were to bring in Glennon and draft Watson (or another QB, just for arguments' sake), it serves as a similar hedging your bets thing to the RGIII/Cousins thing in Washington. The rookie would be expected to develop into the starter, but Glennon will be there to play if ....

a) rookie isn't ready
b) rookie is bad
c) Glennon is surprisingly good.

I suspect they go elsewhere at 3 if Glennon is here but you never know. Maybe Pace thinks his QB will be gone and he'd make the move if not. I more suspect we take a QB after one to groom in this scenario. I just hope he stays true to his board even if Glennon is here and moves his QBs up a bit if not.

If they are really going after Glennon, I doubt they will pick a qb at 3. It just makes no sense to do that.

I believe this as well, but I'm holding out hope that Pace will do right. IF one of the top QB's is his guy that he won't let the Glennon signing effect his draft board. If he settles on some low ceiling limp dick like Peterman than I might just start tuning out this team.

What if he likes a QB a lot who he thinks needs a year to develop?

The Bucs already offered to make Glennon the highest paid backup QB, and Glennon turned it down. He's not remotely close to being a 4th round rookie like Cousins was. There is a pretty good chance that Glennon will be better than any rookie QB initially because Glennon is older and has more experience.

If you sign Glennon, then your 'hedge' would be also drafting a rookie QB...and, IMO, if you use the #3 pick on Deshaun Watson to 'hedge', then that is ridiculous. Its a lose-lose situation.

****. I agree with you here. If they go Glennon, they are not drafting Watson or Trubisky. It just doesn't make sense financially or logically.

****, please let Glennon go somewhere else!

If Pace is sold on one of the tier 2 guys as the answer at the QB then I'm also okay with it, won't say I agree with him but will give time to see how it all plays out. Draft a pass rusher or DB at #3 and get his guy at #36. But Peterman is a tier 3 guy and that shit is not satisfactory to this team.
