Mike Glennon Expected To Land 14-15 Mil Per Season

I feel exactly the same as you - hate it but realize that's probably what he's doing.

I have always hated strict BPA because it fails to distinguish between the importance of different positions and it fails to account for the specifics of a given roster and its make up. It's a lazy, one-size-fits-all philosophy.

That's a bit naive. Nobody does strict BPA by mere grade. Position and need is always in play.

Of course, much appreciated.

As an aside, it's pretty impressive that bears fans can have a QB controversy about players not even on the team...

God help us after the draft.

For what it is worth, I prefer Glennon over Garoppolo too, by a lot actually.

Is that because he would cost less in years and money or do you like him as a QB better??

Nothing will be more entertaining than watching The Statue get edge rushed while throwing wounded ducks to Bellamy LOL.

And when we finish 2-14 and get the 1st overall pick, Pace will pass on a stud QB to pick another one-legged WR.

Hellz no he won't cause he's gonna draft Sam Darnold.

He was benched by Lovie in favor of Josh McCown and history had shown that was a stupid fucking decision.

It's funny that Bears fans who think Lovie was an idiot when it came to QBs suddenly want to treat Glennon's benching by Lovie as proof of something other than Lovie being an idiot when it came to QBs.

What next, getting Dick Jauron's opinion?

Well if that were the case why didn't Tampa give Glennon another shot instead of drafting Winston?

Winston was drafted while Lovie was still there so not sure your point. The same coach that benched him in favor of McCown ultimately decided to draft Winston. Glennon was not drafted by Lovie so Lovie had no allegiance to him.

Once Lovie benched Glennon, there was no way he could then justify not taking Winston or Mariotta in the draft as he had already signalled that he had no faith in Glennon and you don't pass up QB prospects like Winston and Mariotta for a QB you benched for a journeyman.

I'm coming around this Glennon thing. It may not be bad. If he has improved, that is great.

I think it all depends on the contract cause none of us want him as our future for sure so if it's a contract that we can be finished with after one maybe two years at most then i'm fine with it. A Glennon signing has to be all about stop gap for a youngster we get in this draft and most won't like this but maybe the 2018 draft.

Not really, took about 30 seconds of typing. And I wouldn't call it butthurt... more like pre-emptive mocking of the next inevitable Bears **** up.

If they sign Glennon you can kiss a QB at 3 goodbye. Just watch. They'll sign Glennon and bank on one of the top guys dropping to them in the 2nd round, but it's the Bears so naturally the other teams will snipe them all before our pick which will result in Pace taking some other non-QB due to his obsessive BPA approach. Rinse repeat until the end of the draft comes and he's still not drafted a QB and tries to rationalize it again with yet another "there were no franchise QB's in this draft" load of bullshit. I'd love to be proven wrong but I have 0 faith in this franchise at this point.

I hope so. There isn't a qb worth the number 3 imo

Danile Jeremiah sent out a tweet...

That's not the NFL NEtwork saying something.

Mike Mayock(also part of NFL Network) stood at the podium afterwards and said Kizer was still the guy or "as advertised" and never mentioned him hurting himself

So again. No idea what the **** you're blathering on about.

I saw Kizer. Anybody who saw him knows he hurt himself. I don't need a tweet to tell me that. Inaccurate in perfect conditions with no pass rush. Poor/terrible footwork. Scouts asking "what's he been doing" (since Dec).

He stunk.

I agree. Everyone losing their minds before then pen has even been put to paper and we know the contract details. I agree that Glennon isn't worth $15 million a year, but the market dictates a player's value and teams don't let top QBs walk. Everyone saying they'd rather have Hoyer and that's a crock... don't be so daft. You'll be turning your television off at halftime of every game. There's no justification to take a QB with the #3 pick. You draft those type of guys to step in immediately and start and this team does not have the weapons to bring in a rookie QB. Your going to bring in a guy like Watson to have him throw to who? Cam Meredith? Kevin White who can't stay healthy? Jeffery isn't worth the money he thinks he's worth so let someone else overpay for him. The rookie QBs available in the draft will not succeed in the current state that the Bears are in.

Im still trying to understand how Glennon is better then Hoyer? The proof is in what you do on the field. Look at their career numbers. Hoyer has been the better QB & he is cheaper. Just because Glennon is taller & has a stronger arm means nothing. Cutler was taller with a much stronger arm & got out played by Hoyer. For once the Bears need to look deeper into the QB position with better logic.

IF he gets that kind of money from the Bears, it will pretty much cinch it for me.

Carroll got extremely lucky. Wilson was selected in the middle of the 3rd round. Do you think Carroll waits til the 3rd round if he didn't already have Flynn?

What does this have to do with the fact he looked like a fool but it still worked out?

Your premise was that Pace would look like a fool if the rookie outperforms Glennon. My response is so what? I would still be happy because we found our franchise QB.

It becomes exhausting but they'll just go back and forth all day with the "you're not answering my question" posts....lol. They really have a lot of time on their hands.

Glennon is far far better then Jay starting again this year. I don't want or expect Glennon but the only reason he would be brought here is Pace wants a young gun this draft and thinks he will not be start ready. Fix the team and Glennon could be a legit QB but we probably ruin him to save the rookie, as we make the team better.

You are the loser who was over-hyping Barkley on the board. You do not understand football. Stop posting.

My ideal for Bourbannais is

1) Veteran (or ideally the #3 pick if he's ready right away)
2) #3 pick
3) Shaw

Whether the veteran is Glennon, Barkley, Hoyer or Cutler doesn't matter to me as much as the development and success of the draft pick (if he can start immediately, all the better).

The bonus I'd like from the veteran is the possibility of him holding down the fort in the event that the draft pick is a bust. Obviously Cutler and Hoyer don't fit that profile, so it would be down to Glennon or Barkley. I was all about giving Barkley a chance last year but he kept getting worse. Glennon seems easily the most likely to serve as insurance in case the draft pick doesn't work out.

oh.. but i thought you said..

Glennon is garbage. Nobody is winning anything with him. I'd far rather play Barkley than Glennon.

I don't have high hopes for Glennon, but I believe they will draft someone who they think can move in the right direction......

Remember when everyone was saying anybody but Cutler.......you are getting your wish.

Hoyer is atrocious. His numbers don't reflect his talent. He'll eat up clock on chain-moving drives between the 20s but can't do anything in the red zone. The Bears can't afford 16 points per game and 4 wins in 2017. Glennon at least might do a little better. Not much point in a stop gap if you're fired before you get over the gap.

And I don't think he'll get $14/15M.

Do you SERIOUSLY expect us to win more than 4 games in `17?!!! Lol! I hope youre wrong because next year we stand a better chance of getting the stud qb everyone is clamouring for this year. Next years draft is loaded with qb talent. All hyperbole aside i think this team can show some signs its heading in the right direction next season but with the tough schedule and personal as yet to be determined i think we should all temper our expectations. Heres hoping for a great draft:success:
