In 1972 I was buying my first car and only had $750. I narrowed it down to a 1965 Mustang (gray with vinyl roof) for $750 and a 1962 Yellow Corvette for $1200. Couldnt swing the Vette and ended up with the Mustang. That was a disaster and I ended up putting another $1000 into it the next 2 years

65-67 Corvette without a doubt was the hottest American car made for that era..!...I don't know how it held up against some of the European cars, but they sure were hot..

I bought a 68 Nickey Camaro 427, and it was the same price as a 67 Vette big block. They both were around $4500.00

Hindsight tells me the Vette was a better car for the money. It didn't matter though as I got drafted a month later..

My Roush F -150 has 659 hp and 621 torque to the rear wheels. At the crank , you could add another 100 hp. That demon is crank hp.

Loved the look of those vette's, but the design actually made it's aerodynamics create lift rather than downforce.
