My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Now, I know I am going to get lit up for this, but this is my next project. (not this exact one- this model)
A stingray vette with side pipes.
Horribly underpowered motor, cheap ass interior, but I love the mile long hood.

A new 6.2 will be an easy drop in, and then a tranny and rear end change and I will be good to go.
less than 20k all told for a real looker.

Why would you get lit up? Loooooooove the early C3 "Coke bottle" 'Vette's...just hate the "Dirk Diggler" ones with no chrome bumpers and 125HP smog motors...I'd like that car in red, black interior, L88 hood, with a mean 400 small block, to keep the front weight down, 4 speed, beef up the brakes and suspension parts (I believe the C3 are all independent rear and 4 wheel disc already,) and put in some well bolstered seats and harnesses, and a simple roll cage. Yesssssss.

This, but hardtop:

I think he just fell in love with the C3 in general when he saw the pace car...I think they went to the body color endura bumpers in 73 on the C3.

Yup- it was the entire run, year doesnt matter. It can all be retrofitted.
I have redone a couple of firebirds from that era over the years, and the first purchase is always a 78 front end.
the honeycomb grill is far superior to the crap-ass 4 square headlight nose.
purchase #2 is 79 tail lights.

I will take any stingray from 73-82 as long as it is hard top.

I think I just might buy this car.. It just came on the market..

I saw a black one in the movie "Chinatown".. Jack Nicholson crashed it, and I have been in love with them ever since I saw the movie.

I'm getting older now, and I have the money, so I figure...What The ****!

Thoughts??

what if a chain-wallet-wearing lesbian hops in the rumble seat and scratches the paint while you're coasting down Main Street?

Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated with the 1955 Mercedes Benz 300sl Gullwing. It's my dream to own it one day when I'm retired.

The Ford I posted is in the 40K range.

The Duesenberg you posted is in the 4 million range.

Care to front me the difference?

If you are doing that when you retire, you might wanna customize with a fold down step- looks like that could trip up an able bodied person in their prime.

or, even worse....

View attachment 8861When someone says American Muscle I always think of this.

I despise convertibles... even hate t-tops.
But that right there is an exception to the rule.

Growing up the father of one of my buddies had a kit version of that.
It was gorgeous...but he decided not to put the stripes on it and it looked incomplete.
To this day that was the only one I have ever seen without the racing stripes.

I knew a guy who built one of those Cobra kit cars. The originals are way too expensive to own. Anyway, he built it as close to one of the originals as possible..
427 engine
411 gears
But he put a 5 speed transmission in for the OD feature at highway speeds.

He took me for a ride, and the entire time, my back was cemented against the back of the seat. I was frozen there and couldn't move from the G forces. I can just imagine what jet fighter pilots must feel!
