65-67 Corvette without a doubt was the hottest American car made for that era..!...I don't know how it held up against some of the European cars, but they sure were hot..

I bought a 68 Nickey Camaro 427, and it was the same price as a 67 Vette big block. They both were around $4500.00

Hindsight tells me the Vette was a better car for the money. It didn't matter though as I got drafted a month later..

As far as the most beautiful EVER?

I'd have so say those early Duesenbergs would take the prize.

That Duesenberg chassis was coached by La Grande...gorgeous....nothing quite like the chassis/coach builder era...this is a 1930 Model J Duesenberg with a Le Baron body....

In a thread about the most beautiful car ever made, there has been a notable lack of supercars.

Depressing.

I am an american muscle fanatic, but the supercars are a different class.

That Enzo is gorgeous. As supercars go, I was always partial to these; I think it's a perfect update to the original:

That AM also remined me of this...don't want just some run-of-the-mill Ferrari or Lambo? No problem. Just call up Aston Martin's Q division (no relation to the nutjob conspiracy) and have them whip you up a one off custom supercar based on one their classic race cars.

C1 Vettes are just insane to me. It's one of those cars that looks good from all angles and drives unbelievably well, characteristic, and not all that far off a modern car. Just so ahead of it's time. A lot of cars go into my list and leave top-5 personal fav as time moves forward, but this car never quite leaves. I go back and fourth between a C1 and C1g2, but if I owned one, I would get the g2 personally.

Other cars that have survived time, 3rd gen Rx7. Appearance-wise, especially if some F&F poser doesn't ruin it, looks so clean and crisp from all angles.

And the DTP done right, it's just this greatest hits of all things super-car of the period, rolled into a street machine. The interior is aesthetically clean, but at the same time, functionally busy. They really had a serious passion to build those cars right, at least from an appearance standpoint. When Ferrari was afraid to integrate styles of the American Muscle car and American big guys were barely dipping their toes in Euro styling, De Tomaso said **** that, let me show you the best of both worlds.

And the infamous Y-Job. What a trippy and gorgeous car.

Now, I know I am going to get lit up for this, but this is my next project. (not this exact one- this model)
A stingray vette with side pipes.
Horribly underpowered motor, cheap ass interior, but I love the mile long hood.

A new 6.2 will be an easy drop in, and then a tranny and rear end change and I will be good to go.
less than 20k all told for a real looker.

I like these too. MakoII Black and silver and this color, Bridgehampton(unless sunlight/camera are fooling me), are the best looking colors. IMO.

I dated a girl in school whos dad won the black and grey pace car from a drawing.
She would occasionally get to take it out, and that is what made me fall in love with it.
It was such a badass ride with great body lines.

I get the hatred for them, they were slow as hell, but that can be rectified.

Track cars are for speed. WTF are you going to do now? Race your weekend driver around all the bad drivers on the road, between texters and traffic cameras? Nah, you want style, get yourself some style. The real hate should be gone IMO, because these used to be dime-a-dozen vettes, which led a lot of owners to just scrap theirs. Still plentiful, just not like 20 years ago when they could be picked up for a part-timers paycheck. Nobody should really hate on these anymore, unless they are the type who want you to buy everything *they* like, thus hate anything *you* like that differs.

In all fairness, It was still plenty fast back then for driving on public roads, just not some GTS class star like later vettes.
