Lol, measuring dicks with Charlotte Rae and Nell Carter now.

I wouldn't waste my time measuring dicks with FT. I already know he's the biggest dick here.

Edit: Oh, and Barbara Eden and Elizabeth Montgomery are more to my liking.

I read only the first page, and when I see people saying the Sopranos and the wire are overrated, it makes me wonder if people only like to be spoon fed.

Also horrifically overrated:

The American versions of--

The Office
Shameless (this one gets a lot of critical acclaim and I can't believe it)

Just pure shit, and that's not out of any Anglophilia. They're just fucktarded
The English Office >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The American Office.

I agree with the comments made about Hill Street Blues and The Larry Sanders Show.

I'm not a Gary Shandling fan myself, but that show was about him being a complete dick and the supporting cast and writing were stellar, for the time. Those going back and watching it now may not enjoy it as much because so much has been done since. Same for Hill Street Blues. At the time, it and Cheers were the shows that had top notch writing and great characters.

I have only seen a few episodes of the Sopranos, and it is well done. At the time though, I was sick of the mob movies and shows, so my interest just wasn't there anymore.

I have missed so much TV. I haven't had a TV for about a decade, and the most recent show I have watched from beginning to end is Deadwood. HBO has come a long way.

Maude: Spinoff. Marginally successful
Police Woman: Not a sitcom
Rhoda: Spin off. Did not do well.
Ally McBeal: came out after Roseanne
Cagney and Lacy: Not a sitcom
Wonder Woman: Not a sitcom
Xena: Came out after Roseanne...not a sitcom
Caroline in the City: After Roseanne
Golden Girls: Multiple female leads
Murphy Brown: Started after Roseanne

Overall, I'm left with only one question: Do you have a brain?

I think you suffer from delusions of grandeur.

That or some kind of anti-social personality disorder.

But I'll leave it at that as I have no desire to participate in his conquest to become King of the CCSMB.

I think people confused "overrated" with shows they don't find entertaining.

It's like the Beatles issue from last week(?). I may not enjoy the Beatles music but I wouldn't call them overrated because I understand the social/musical impact and influence they had and still have. People calling shows like Friends, 90210, Big Bang Theory etc overrate kind of make me laugh. They are sitcoms. It wasn't supposed to be ground breaking TV. You're supposed to sit there and enjoy it and laugh a bit. If you don't find the shows funny or entertaining that's one thing but I don't see too many people holding up those TV shows as achievements in modern TV or socially remarkable.

Actually, I'd say people confuse overrated with horrible. You say something is overrated and people automatically assume you don't like what's being discussed at all.

I just recently watched the entire Sopranos series for the first time, and I thought it was awesome. Six Feet Under was amazing and The Wire was great.

HBO puts out great stuff.

I've heard good things about Six Feet Under, but I honestly have no intention of watching it.

Twin Peaks.

Never before have I seen a show that was so highly touted and hyped, only to watch a horribly acted , oddball stupid( I like David Lynch) shit plot of a series. I still get mad I wasted time watching that show.

I tried getting into Game of Thrones multiple times now. All I got out of it was violence, beheading of horses, dead dogs, family feuds, winter zombies and brother/sister bangin.

Twin Peaks is the only Lynch I like.

How anyone can even mention Sapranos, GOT, and Seinfeld is beyond me. All of those shows were great in their own way.

I will add one:

House - Terrible show that is/was very popular.

and

Weeds

Anyone ever watch Boss? I thought the show was pretty fucking good but it never garnered enough ratings and got canceled.

They are said to be making a movie to wrap things up but I haven't heard much about that since last year. It was a good show. I heard it angered the Chicago Political Machine since they didn't like to be painted in a negative light (even though it was fictional).

Good shows die when they jump the shark and they all do that at some time. Mash was a great show until it was on longer than the actual Korean War it was portraying. Writers run out of ideas and charachter storylines die
