I don't get that channel. I guess I could stay up until 2 am watch the game and somehow avoid all interaction with sports

Re:OT: Movie talk

ugh, is seth rogan becoming the new will ferrell. thats the last thing i wanted, i like seth rogan in alot of his movies, i like the people he brings into the movies, seems more like adam sandler as he uses the same actors in just about every movie. but not another will ferrell. i like only a few of his movies, and only like. i would not go as far as saying any one of them is a favorite. except maybe elf. step brothers was complete sh*t, and i doubt many will agree with me.

a few movies a have to suggest... since comedy seems to be the genre of choice:
they are a bit older

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Murder by Death
Uncle Buck
Breaking Away

and now for b-movies and movies that are just so bad i laugh my behind off while watching:

Dead Alive - directed by peter jackson, of lord of the rings fame
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darnkness - both directed by sam raimi, of spiderman
Bad Taste - once again peter jackson... about aliens who harvest humans for their intergalactic fast food franchise
Dead and Breakfast
Shoot em up
the last 2 death wish movies
Fido
Re-Animator
and of course Good Burger

and did you know that Heavyweights was written and produced by Judd Apatow

Saw Zach and Miri make a porno a few weeks ago....with my parents...which was.....interesting. Not recommended for family viewing but it was pretty funny.

Will Ferrell reminds me of Jim Carey in that in every movie he's got to act kind of weird and just comes off as Will Ferrell rather than the character he's playing.

Seth Rogen doesn't come off like that to me. He feels like a unique character in each move, and I don't feel like he's just Seth Rogen trying to play a role, but can believe in the role.

For that reason, I don't think he'll be another Will Ferrell, and I tend to agree with you that Will Ferrell is pretty overrated. I think he's best in a supporting role. There have only been a couple of his movies I've hated, but there hasn't been anything I've absolutely loved either.

Did you guys hear Aliens Vs Monsters brought in 58 million :eek:hmy: :eek:hmy: :eek:hmy: :eek:hmy:

That's not surprising. The nice computer animated kids movies usually bring in a ton of money, especially because it was launched on a spring break weekend where a lot of parents are trying to figure out what the heck to do with their kids.

On top of that, it's the first good kids movie to come out in a long, long time. There was Coraline maybe a month and a half ago, but even that was kind of dicey looking for younger kids.

Re:OT: Movie talk

I Married a Monster From Outer Space was on tonight. it was pretty awesome as far as sci fi black and white movies from the 50s go. about aliens whose sun exploded and killed off all there women and go to earth to try and reproduce. 1 thing i learn about that movie, is that if an alien appears to be drowning, and need cpr. try not to put an oxygen mask on it. oxygen kills them, even though its breathing the air in the earths atmosphere, that is what??? yeah oxygen...
