MI-5 is on Netflix streaming, i've watched a ton, they have at least 4-5 seasons I believe. I haven't watched them in a while, but might need to check back into them. Spaced is still in the que. And I actually didn't like the IT crowd.

I ended up liking Spaced a lot more than I thought I would. Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes are really likable and it has a level of zaniness to it that tickles me.

I enjoy the american version of the office more than the british one, as long as you ignore the whole documentary aspect of it, which has been seriously downplayed after the first season or 2, except for the occasional aside for an inner thought statement here and there. It's pretty much just another sitcom in filming style now, and they characters rarely, if ever, address the cameras now, outside of jim's faces he makes to the camera.

I was aware of Moffatt's involvement with the Doctor and totally forgot that he was involved with the Sherlock Holmes show... he must be a busy guy (I am really enjoying his plot and story direction of Doctor Who and can't wait to see what he unleases on us next season).

Coupling was fucking brilliant (up until Jeff left). My buddy and I can't say the word "naked" without attempting to give it that Jeff pronounciation. And you're not ready for the giggle-loop!

And since you and Mass recommended it, looks like I'll be adding MI-5 to the queue.

WORD. Although I wouldn't say it lost all its brilliance once Jeff left because I think the writers just upped the ante of the remaining 5 original cast members---they became even a little bit more insane versions of themselves! But no Jeff was truly a HUGE creative chunk taken out of the show and made all the more evident because Oliver was only "ho-hum ok" ya know?

I'm a big Peeg fan which is mainly why I put it on the que, unfortunately it was quite some time ago.

As for Spooks/MI-5 (god I hate the North American re-name) there are just not enough good things I can say about it. Every time I rave about it to someone who doesn't watch and pester them to give it a look-see they always become crackiliciously hooked to it's awesomeness! While being pretty damn brutal with the audience's emotions instead of coming off as cool and alienating as a result, their brutality has the opposite effect and you care and invest that much more. Tricky rabbits. Plus the characters are just so fucking BADASS it's hard not to like. As well, I like the little digs they get in at the expense of U.S. ego, hubris, and geo-political imperialism, heh.

Watched the first ep last night and enjoyed it and I see what you mean regarding the digs on the US... although the southern accent on the pro-life actress was reaaaally bad.

I'll be interested in seeing how the show develops.

Yes, the accent may have been ham-fisted but it's MORE than made up for by the way Tom Quinn fucks her and her raging arrogance over! LOL

It was good. I wanted to slap that lady. Tom Quinn is definitely a badass and I didn't even realize he had two different names (one for MI-5 and a "civilian" identity) until this morning.

I watched scott pilgrim.

Is it possible, for once ever a romatic comedy of sorts could follow a different formula?

Step 1. Pursue, the girl/guy

Step 2. win the person, Everything is hunky dory

Step 3: Conflict arises causing relationship to temporarily end/be in doubt.

Step 4: Dramatically, win guy or girl back.

Give me a break already its the same bullshit with every fucking movie where the core theme is a relationship. Hell even in "buddy cop" movies.

Occationally you can replace Step 4 with:

Realizes best friend of opposite sex was the better option the whole time and they live happily ever after.

Even though 500 days of summer wasnt my cup of tea, I give it bonus points for SPOILER not having them end up together in the end.

I would hardly call Scott Pilgrim a rom-com.

I wasnt necissarily calling it that, more or less just saying, movies where the focus is a romantic relationship and involves comedy, which this movie featured both, generally all have the same friggin formula.

It actually took me a few episodes to get to like it, I thought the first couple were slow but my brother said he liked them so I stuck it out.

500 Days of Summer was a great little flick! Joseph Gordon-Levitt once again delivered another awesome, involving performance in yet another interesting, unconventional film---I could watch that kid's work all day. Sooooo goddamn fantastic a couple of years ago in the woefully neglected The Lookout.

Everyone knows his best role was in GI Joe.

He said while adjusting his purse...

Watched Legion this weekend. Pass on this film. Waste of Bettany's talent.
