so that is a no. That's not what I said

Do you mean when the Chitauri leader told Thanos something to the effect of to face the Avengers is "to court death", which made Thanos smile because the Marvel embodiment of the spirit of death (a hooded skeleton with breasts) gives Thanos a stiffy?

Yea.... movie wasn't bad at all.

I think it was just over hyped as far as I was concerned.

Because, like you said, you never really before followed anything involving it at all beforehand or are a fan of Marvel. They actually pulled something off I thought I would never see growing up reading comics and especially later when seeing how a lot of other (especially earlier) superhero movies turned out (and you can say recent ones as well with how absolutely horrible that new Spider Man movie looks to be).

So yeah, to people like me, it's going to be an incredible achievement. They made the best possible comic book movie they could and they weren't afraid to make it a comic book movie. They didn't need to pretend it's something it's not like how the Spider Man movie will be, they didn't make it "realistic" like Nolan was with Batman.

Saw Men in Black 3. Eh, it sucked as well.

That's it.

Yeah basically. Most people don't or didn't realize that he wasn't telling thanos that if he went up against them he would die. He was telling thanos that going up against him would be like courting death, as in sending a love not to the embodiment of death herself. So for him this is a great idea, not certain death. Just adds a bit to the storyline for next time. I bet death makes an appearance for shits and giggles.

Watched some movies last night.

One For the Money - Meh. Heigl flashes a little skin which makes it worthwhile, but this is destined to played over and over and over and over on the premium cable movie channels.

Immortals - Meh. If you enjoy the genre worth a look.

Not a comic reader, never really have been.

On that note saw Avengers last night. Good flick to see at the theaters.

As someone else stated earlier in the thread, Captain America's character is pretty worthless.

And for those of us who have been around long enough to remember the Robert Downey Jr. of old, he has come a long way.

I am sure he was highly ranked for many years in death pools.

Yeah, my nephew and his jarhead buddies have seen all the other Marvel movies but were clueless who Thanos was at the end of the movie, I sent him the Wikipedia entry to clue him in a bit. He's mostly grown up in a minor rust belt city in Iowa with no comic book store so it's no wonder.

I don't often come across a movie that I did not enjoy or was not entertained by, but What to Expect While You are Expecting was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. If you want to be amused, watch the trailer and then forget the movie ever existed.

Thusly, I made my wife watch the Avengers for punishment for making me sit through previously mentioned movie. She actually really really liked it. Though, she likes the Nolan Batman series better and can't wait for The Dark Night Rises. I predict it wipes the floor of all previous records and comes close to 1.5-1.6 billion.

Battleship was ok. Entertaining, but some bad acting here and there hurt it. The story was different than expected. The love story thrown in was fucking stupid.

The Snow White movie was pretty good. Charlize Theron is fucking hot, Kristin Stewart pisses me off.

The "?" Year Engagement wasn't bad.

I watched John Carter. Seriously, ignore the shit marketing for that movie, its pretty good. The marketing and movie title seriously killed what is a decent movie.

Went to Snow White and the Huntsman. Okay if you like the fantasy genre. For having two attractive female lead roles it would have benefited from some more partial nudity. Went with the family and dropped $36 on ticks and sodas. It was family night so popcorn was free and we paid matinee prices, still think I paid $35 more than I should've. Wait for it this fall on Redbox.

Chris Hemsworth is a dude, although I do agree regarding Charlize.

She's no doubt annoying, her acting prowess questionable based on recent films, and forever type cast as a whingey teen vampire, but I do thinkl she is attractive.
