Saw the Avengers as well. Don't give it as much cred as BHP though, 5/10. Entertaining summer action flick sure. Nothing to get too excited aboot though.

I thought the plot was so-so, but the cinematography and effects were top notch.

I do agree it was nothing to blow me out of my seat as far as superhero films are concerned, but it was one of the better Marvel films.

I never said I wasn't entertained.

It just doesn't belong in any mention of highly praised films.

I retract a .5 and give Avengers a 7/10.

Why?

Because I can.

The best part of the Avengers was ScarJo's fine ass in body leather.

I know it was already mentioned earlier. But Extremely Loud and Incredibly close is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. 10/10

It's funny they mentioned the excitement of watching them repair the ship, when that really honestly was one of the best parts of the movie. And that's with saying it was probably the best superhero movie ever.

I watched all of the Honest Trailers they have up. I seriously guffawed at many points.

Finally watched Dale & Tucker Vs Evil... great spoof horror film that should have hit the theaters. If you liked Cabin in the Woods or Shawn of the Dead, it's definitely in that vein. After watching on Netflix, it'll easily be a purchase for future watching later. Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk in the same movie... priceless.

Also caught Frankenweenie the other day. Surprised with how good it was... really enjoyed it. If you like Tim Burton and "dog" movies, it's definitely worth checking out. 3D may not be necessary as I'm not sure how much it actually added to the movie.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, was actually rather entertaining. It was interesting how they managed to intertwine the vampires with the real history.

If you haven't already, read the book... couldn't believe how good it was for the exact reason you mentioned...

Want to catch it, just haven't been able to get to it and it's gone from the cheap theaters... should I wait for Netflix or is it worth a purchase?

I watched 9.79 last evening on ESPN2 after the boring replay of KHL hockey.

I was really impressed by the film. It had amazing coverage, and it went into all of the runners and their histories, but really focused on Ben Johnson's doping and Carl Lewis. Well filmed and well presented.

8/10.
