I think he's only good as an actor when he's playing himself, like in The Social Network, although he was by far the weakest link in the movie and his character was the most hammy and least layered. I just want my Timberlake to be the performer he is. Dude's never gonna be De Niro.

I saw Paul, which was better than I thought, but not as good as I hoped.

Our Idiot Brother, Much better than I thought it was, good cast, pretty moving story. All around solid. I liked that they made him an idiot without making him seem like Special person idiot. It was a nice balance of dumb and believable.

I saw that for a second time yesterday. It is a good movie. Definitely one I can just put on from time to time if I don't feel like watching a new movie.

Yeah, I really thought it was a great cast. Even TJ Miller hit it well with his typical character. I may be bias as I'm been a fan of his for a while since he broke out of the Chicago Comedy scene. And Rudd really made the movie.

Next up is Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close, I'm hoping for really good things out of it.

Watched this movie last night after I saw it got good reviews.

Hara Kiri: Death of a Samurai

There actually isn't a ton of fighting in it, most definitely more of a drama based on the plight of many samurai following the Sengoku period, When Tokugawa united Japan. Since there was no war, Samurai were not in high demand, and many whos lords could no longer pay them released them from service. While it doesn't expressly show it in the film (because samurai are selling stuff). In reality, Samurai were not allowed to engage in trade, so if they couldnt find a new lord they really had no way to support themselves. Which is why Ronin had such a hard time. Basically the premise of the film cover the desperate lengths one Ronin was willing to go to get money to get a doctor for his sick wife and child and his adoptive fathers (who is also his wifes father) quest to avenge the wrongs done to his family. It was a really good movie.

I too enjoyed Our Idiot Brother more than I thought I would. I don't think it was marketed correctly, because I remember all the commercials making it look like Paul Rudd's character was this giant moron and there was plenty more to the story than that. I mean, for his character to stay THAT positive while growing up and around such hateful women was an interesting take to me.

Also, TJ Miller for the win. Got a chance to see him at the Schaumburg Improv before Cloverfield and his other "success." Funny guy.

Yeah, that is exactly what I expected from the marketing. Almost like it would be a straight comedy about a guy who is too dumb to do anything right and it really wasn't about that exclusively.

Yeah, I only know about TJ because my buddy did some comedy with him and they got to be acquaintances. He had a part for the release of his shortlived TV show Carpoolers that my buddy went to and I should have went with him but I didn't for some reason. Now he seems to have moved on to bigger and better things but I fear he's now type cast. Which is only bad if you don't want to be. And he's good at it.

Let's put it this way... I saw him so long ago - the only thing I knew him from was Carpoolers... which he was the best part of, hands-down.

Hoooollllleeeee shit how in the **** did this get by me.

I had absolutely no idea, none that this was coming out or that it was even in production whatsoever. Don't think it will beat out the actual graphic novel, but ****, if they get close, this beats out Mask of the Phantasm for best Batman movie.

Well it's not out yet, next Tuesday, but this took me by complete surprise. Year One was okay. Wasn't really that big a fan of the comic though so take that for what it's worth. TDKR though, big fan. Hopefully they're able to keep close to most of the source material, especially that Reagan-esqe president.
