Uptown baby!
I agree.

Leon, the Professional is one of my favorites (uncut version).

AGREED 101%!!! Fucking love that film. "The Professional" is a film I admit, the studio has gotten me to QUADRUPLE dip on since the advent of DVDs. It's TOTES worth it though! Gotta have the International, Uncut version. It's also the only film along with "Beautiful Girls" where I have actually liked Portman and thought she brought some actual acting charisma---which is kind of a sad indictment considering she was still a kid in both, heh.

They're some of his oldest but Besson hasn't ever been able to top the tandem of "La Femme Nikita" (which I have triple dipped on---fucking greedy studios, LOL!)and "The Professional" for me and I really don't feel he's reached those types of overall creative highs again. Though I do really want to see "Malavita" when it opens this year.

I even like Oldman's work in the Harry Potter books. Agree he steals the show, often, as a supporting character.

My brother said the same, and he said that Tom Cruise is nothing like what he pictured Jack would be like from the books? You get that impression? He said he was described as more of a 6'3 muscular type of guy. More imposing?

Never read the books but Cruise came off convincingly well for the character. The car chase seen was excellent as well.

Wife, daughter and I really enjoyed it.

Bruce Willis has had quite a career. I remember watching Kevin Smith on one of his DVDs talk about him and directing him in one of his bad movies. About how he's really the last of the 80s action hero guys still going and surviving and still being a big star throughout the 90s and 00s and still to this day. Van Damme and Stallone faded away, Arnold become governor, Segal was.....Segal. He talks about how Stallone is trying to bring that genre back with his Rambo and Rocky movies and also bring back the mold of the big action movies of yesteryear, (Expendables) and along with, the stars of those types of movies. I'm not really a huge fan of any of Smith's films but it really is interesting listening to his stories and experiences in Hollywood and film-making in general, especially about directing (or attempting/fearing to) Willis, that is hilarious.

I dont care what anyone says the most recent Rocky film was excellent.

I can't figure out, is this also the uncut international version?

http://www.amazon.co...fessional uncut

for 9.99 I'll buy it right now and watch it tomorrow. I actually don't own this and it's one of my favorites. Of course I don't buy many movies at all.

It could be.

There are so many minor "tweak" versions of that film. Most have to do with the special features contained on the disc.

It says the item is under review because it might not be the right thing. Let me know if you get it cus at that price on blu-ray I wouldn't mind grabbing it.

Very strange, they have been selling a version of that since 2000 or so looking at the reveiws, but it wasn't under review when I found it, just said 9.99, will be interesting to see what happens with their inventory. With so many versions I would imagine they are sending one and what the page is for is slightly different.

Yah Oldman is great. One thing about him is I aaaaalways forget he is British until he is out of character and doing an interview as himself. I think he is one of the best at turning off his accent completely when on screen. Versatile actor also. One of those who can do comedy, drama, action, suspense etc etc. Hes a great one.

It's not to say that those movies aren't any good, though I haven't seen Rambo, it's just interesting how he's going about restarting his career and the careers of a few of his contemporaries from their glory days. And "The Expendables" movies are good, entertaining enough, they are what they are. But their most recent solo efforts, "A Bullet to the Head" and Arnold's sheriff movie, yeah, looks bad.
