Isn't he like 40 something years old though? I guess if the idea is for an older Batman it could work. I would just think that if this is the starting point of new franchise, like Marvel's, you'd want someone a bit younger.

Yeah but that's a bad choice to begin with. Not just due to his age.

How you figure? I read the comics he is damn near dead on for Bruce Wayne.

I'm slowly becoming okay with Affleck but it is more like I just hope he doesnt **** it up. Superman/Batman movie probably isnt going to great to begin with.

Really I think they need to cast Bruce Wayne and cast Batman separately, I know it sounds stupid but some actors make great Bruce Waynes but shitty Batmans and vice versa. Keaton to me was the best Batman but one of the worst choices for Bruce Wayne, he doesn't look like a rich socialite however Val Kilmer makes a great Bruce Wayne but meh Batman. As much as everyone bitches about Christian Bale he's done the best overall job thus far.

My only problem with Bale was the Cookie Monster/Slash voice he used for Batman. Other than that, I thought he played it very well, he's a great actor and it definitely helps in this case when the movie takes the character seriously. I mean, Kilmer probably would've been a really good Batman/Wayne as well, same goes for Clooney. But the scripts of those movies were their downfall. Not much they can do. Really, I think Clooney in a serious Batman movie would be great. The only reason I like Keaton is for nostalgia.

The voice is something taken from the comics that's why it was done. It was for intimidation and to cover who he really is. But yeah it doesn't translate well to the movies. Batman Forever wasn't terrible wasn't the best either but I have no issues with that flick. The 4th one yeah was a steaming pile of shit. Actually I thought Forever was better than 2. I think Clooney could possibly be a good Batman but not Bruce Wayne

Most of the actors I could picture playing Batman are all older. At least in their 40s. Most of the younger actors I can't stand or just wouldn't fit the role.

Yeah I get that, but you don't have to sound like the Cookie Monster to get that effect. I think out of all of them, Keaton actually had the best Batman voice. I think if anything Clooney can play that Bruce Wayne super rich charming bachelor role, because that's basically what he's doing in real life lol.

I could See DiCaprio playing Bruce Wayne, but I don't think he would ever do it. After watching Gatsby I think he has aged enough to play the part. Hes definitely a good enough actor.

The problem with Affleck is him and his wife ruined Daredevil. Why the **** would anyone think he could pull off another super hero movie.

I don't know if I fully agree.

It takes a whole team to ruin a movie, all the way up the chain to the execs.

While I am not keen on Afleck as Wayne/Batman, I do think that some of the adversion might be the obvious change in character direction. The ol' tough to light cycle.

People or story lines get boring if the stay one side or the other so the pendulum swings to change it up. Some people tend to have a hard time with the distance of the swing.

Keaton was dark and somewhat tough, Kilmer was tougher and darker, Clooney was very light, Bale very dark.

This is just the next cycle, and at least they are testing it out with him being a side character. I do think he will be better than Clooney....but "a very special episode of Batman" just seems to be running through my head.

I'm sure if I had been old enough to be realize it, I would have said holy shit they just made Mr. Mom Batman. But that turned out alright. I'm willing to wait and see to pass judgment before I go all gung-ho. See what I did there? Much ado about nothing really, Desperate measures make my life speechless. Everyone goes through the touch and go periods in there career but affleck has a real shot at glory on this one. As long as he stays out of quicksand here like some of the other guys he will clear history, buy some cars go on a Hawaiian vacation, and still have enough money from it to roll naked in a pool full of it. Then all the critics have will just be white noise and he can live all johnny dangerously, unlike us working working stiffs on the night shift.

This is a fake trailer that has been circulating. It's actually pretty convincing that Ben Affleck will be fine as Batman, even though none of these scenes are actually from the movie.
