Also, thinking about all of this...kinda really wish we could have signed Joe Johnson in the 2010 free agency when Bron and Bosh busted to Miami. Stupid Atlanta and offering him a max contract he wasn't worth.

I'll change my mind (momentarily) if he fixes the finals so the heat don't win again this year.

The Finals weren't fixed last year Mavs won it fair and square.

Joe Johnson isn't worth that much that was stupid of ATL to give him that much money.

Signing Joe Johnson > Carlos Boozer.

We would have had both..had Atlanta not offered Joe Johnson that contract. I'm pretty sure he was settled on signing here over any other team at that point, but he took the money over a chance to win a championship (And I feel with a lineup of Noah-Boozer-Deng-Johnson-Rose, we might just have beat Miami in the ECF). Sure we wouldn't have Korver, Brewer, or Watson, but in reality, what good are those guys doing for us in the playoffs? Absolutely nothing.

I agree but I don't think the Bulls would have given Joe $120M if they were given a chance.

They couldn't if they wanted to. $120M was the MAX a team that had bird rights could give a guy. We couldn't offer anywhere close to that due to the CBA.

Atlanta paid him everything to keep their team competitive so their owners could sell the team in a few years.

Neither would I, and I made the argument that in the long run, Joe Johnson could have possibly made that money up by playing here(winning more, endorsements, being able to have a business in a basketball city, opposed to Atlanta that doesn't give a shit about it's ballers.)

For the right price, that would be a very smart basketball move for this team. But I already said this elsewhere. We would still need to find some offense.

But it was only a possibility (abet a strong one). He settled for the absolute guaranteed money (I'm sure his agent was all over that too).

Yeah, and he could have played the FA-card to smoke screen the league and his own team for that money. For all we know, he wanted to stay where he was comfortable.

Hell, after LeBronathon, some players become suddenly loyal. And JJ is a guy that cares about his image.

He'd be an after thought in Atlanta though. He'd have popularity here in Chicago, and it'd be no different than players before LeBron's decision leaving their teams for a new one via free agency. There some love lost but not a whole lot.

But in the end, he got what he truly wanted. We got stuck with an awesome regular season team that can't win in the post season.

Scoot wants us to get in the lottery. So shoot lower :troll:

Maybe Pargo as starting PG, Kirk as starting SG, and Scal starting at C?

With Scal starting everynight we can battle The Cavs and Bobcats for worst record in the league supremacy.

Can we please stop the hypothetical GM threads? Please? I mean, at least until the playoffs are over.
