Guys, Joe Johnson made the right move. He has 120mil guaranteed. Nothing Chicago offers would top that. And no, there is no guarantee that he makes any money on the side here. It was a no brainer. What was he going to get in Chicago? A shoe deal?

It wasn't about loyalty and it was definitely a good business move for him...it was a bad move for Atlanta. They paid a lot of money to be mediocre for the next 3-5 years. But they can always amnesty that deal when he falls off.

Joe Johnson was Derrick Rose's choice if I am not mistaken. I believe he might have even done a bit of recruiting in that situation.

I think we know that Joe Johnson made the best business move for Joe Johnson. I mainly just bring it up as a hypothetical "what if?" and how we probably wouldn't be in this situation if Atlanta hadn't offered Joe Johnson a max contract because they were content with being mediocre for the next 3-5 years.

Joe Johnson was someone who I thought was in the bag for us assuming we couldn't snag Wade away from Miami. Its just an unfortunate set of events that play into our problems today.

And yes, Bear06 is on to somthing, because HueHeffna was right all along.
Props to Hue for being realistic and not a fan homer.
I guess
And I was right and pretty much on the same page too last year until people started bashing me and threatining to ban me for telling the truth like Hue.
When I started acting more like a Bulls homer like everyone else, the ban threats stopped.
I should of stuck with my guns and rolled with Hue, but then I would of been banned along time ago.

Thanks to the homers I became a homer too....thanks a lot for sending me off guys.

I think the important thing in that conversation I had with Scoot and others is that the front office of the Bulls do not believe they have enough...they say it, but they don't believe it. They have gone after every major free agent and any major player rumored available to be traded because Paxson knows what it takes.

The Bulls won with Paxson because they had Jordan, he was definitely the principal reason...but they had a superstar beside Jordan in Pippen, when he became a star, the Bulls begin winning titles. If Jordan couldn't win with a nice supporting cast, why do people think the Bulls will win like that?

Pax fell in love with his roster from 2007...I am sure some of the people on this thread would have said no 5 years ago to trading Deng for Kobe. But the Bulls value superstars. They are not settling for nice teams, not their philosophy. They want rings.

I expect Pax to make some moves this summer, or at least try to. He won't be complacent.

Many here would be saying they wouldnt trade Deng for Kobe. Many thought Luol Deng was up and coming and on his way to All-Star levels after that 06-07 season. Then he kinda fell off the radar and suffered a few injuries and such. Yeah, he finally made an All-Star team this year, but this playoff series he clearly has not stepped up like an All-Star.

Most people would be against that Kobe trade because we would have had to gut the team at the time for Kobe (Kinda like how they said the same thing for Carmelo. To me Carmelo and Kobe are different stories though). Looking back, it wouldn't have mattered, though in all those rumors it was said Kobe didnt want Deng to be included in the trade.

Either way, we're in agreement that GarPax is likely going to do something this offseason to address this issue. I think most anyone should believe that everyone but Derrick Rose is very touchable on this roster in an effort to acquire another Superstar. I still think height in the post is important, and if at all possible, I'd love to keep a player like Noah since centers don't grow on trees in the NBA anymore, but if its for the right player (Aka another player who can play in the post) then Noah should be included in any deal.

I'd honestly move Deng this offseason, but thats highly unlikely due to the unknown status of his wrist injury and what he's going to do about it. Thats why it makes it even more difficult to make a move this offseason.

Kinda feel like we're going to end up standing pat for the most part and making small minor moves instead.

Pax has tried in the past.
Kobe, Gasol, Lebron, Staudamire, Joe Johnson, DWade, and Bosh

Pax need to try harder and maybe kiss alittle ass like other orginizations do keep those players or to bring those players there in the first place.
Pax needs to stop his sales pitch when interviewing players.
"You need the Bulls more than we need you" bullshit he's been pushing.
Can't keep trying to convince players to sign here by pretending this is still the 90s Bulls because free agents can see right through that shit...The Bulls are not the dynasty they temperarely were for the 90s decade based on the fact we had Jordan.....

I am sorry but I have never heard that before about Paxson, Reinsdorf or this organization. You mean to tell me Reinsdorf and Co. didn't kiss Lebron's ass? They didn't kiss Kobe's ass? They didn't kiss Wade and Bosh's ass? What did you want them to do, concede control to Lebron's entourage?

If I am overlooking something, let me know, but I have never heard of any perceived arrogance pertaining to the Bulls since Jerry Krause left.

We have to wait for the next disgruntled superstar to become available. Until then, we're kinda stuck.

We could try going the Spurs route and drafting one...

THANK YOU.

Well that's what I see.
An hour interview showing videos of Jordan to get someone to sign here is arrogant in my book.

That makes no sense at all.

First, who are you talking about...Lebron? Kobe? Who???

Secondly, that is not arrogance...what is the point of attaining a winning tradition if it is not part of your brand? Why ignore it? I would call watching an hour of Jordan boring, probably because I have watched damn near everything concerning Jordan. But no, not arrogant. Very few people have accused Reinsdorf of arrogance.

The Bulls weren't going to give lebron's friends run of the place like they enjoyed in Cleveland, but it didn't matter because they weren't coming here anyway.

Right, who would want to come and play with Loul Deng, a lack luster small forward who can't dribble a basketball without looking down and isn't like a normal small forward that cuts to the basket?
Who would want to play with shot gun saloon Noah who smokes weed, drinks, dances around and whines while making fun of citys?
Who would want to play with Boozer who couldn't defend if his families life was in danger and who is soft as toilet tissue?
Who would want to play with selfish, cocky, stuck up, danceless unhuman derrick Rose?
Who would want to play for a coach like Thibbs who treats his players like mules?
Who would want to work for John Paxson who starts a projeect and never finishes it while leaving obvious voids in the lineup.
Who the **** would want to take a paycut?
Who the **** would want to be on a team with Scalabrini and be embaressed everyday?
Who dammit, who????
Who the **** would want to play on the Chicago Bulls?

If you say something on an INTERNET FORUM...expect it to be questioned. Who did Paxson show an hour of Jordan film to...and by the way,NO decisions like that are made without Reinsdorf being involved. When the Bulls went to Akron, Reinsdorf was there...wearing matching suits with Pax and Forman. If I am not mistaken, Reinsdorf met with Kobe also years ago. That is the way things are done with the Chicago Bulls.

You can't just say shit and not expect it to be questioned. People are going to ask where you got the information from. You give Pax a hard time and most of it you are not backing up with facts. So I was just asking where the facts were. I don't think that is asking too much.

Okay...to those who speak of my "love of superstars"...who tripped when Melo and Howard were brought up...who didn't want Lebron to come here (please shoot yourself in the foot if you were one of those people)...or Kobe because of certain characteristics that you don't like, here is what Dirk Nowtizki had to say...
