False resurgence? He is playing this year how he has for every season for the past like 7 years. This is the Z we can expect every year. The Cubs just fucked up by moving him into the bullpen.

I wouldn't call it a false resurgence, because its not like his FIP is high or anything. He has actually pitched like 2006 again here of recent.

I agree the Cubs are still going to have to pay a lot for him to go away, but not because of his performance of late.

Z FIP since 2003: 3.47, 3.57, 3.70, 4.14, 4.58, 4.23, 3.61, 3.81

Could it be, maybe, just maybe, the Zambrano is still the same starting pitcher? That the dumbass Cubs overreacted to his opening day start and his bullpen stint led to him essentially losing 2/3 of the season?

Now maybe you believe his entire career has been fools' gold, idk, but otherwise Z is just pitching like Z always does. He has 3-4 blowups a season, has 1-2 dominant stretches, and throws a temper tantrum or two.
