So now they pick a QB in the first round, say he needs 3 years to develop but we give him 4. Then after 4 years, they finally fire Nagy and Pace. But Robert Quinn will still have 9 years left on his contract that pace gave him.

No more likely they pick a QB get fired and the new guy is stuck with a QB he doesnt want. That is the Bears way.

They need a win-now talent in the first round, they’ll probably look edge rusher or wide receiver. Maybe safety. Would not expect a position with a steep development path like tackle or quarterback.
