There is one more rumor I heard from the inside today. I don't like it. We'll see if it pans out.
Does it involve the multi-year deal with Bickell somehow?

No. Not even going there cause I didn't like it and am hoping it doesn't happen. It's either than or they will stand pat where they are. Niemi comes in at 2.6 or less and the line up above could be pretty close.

I'll take a stab and guess that Seabrook is on the chopping block. God I hope not. But if you look at the roster on what the possibilities are to cut that are left it's gotta to be either him or Brouwer at this point as everyone else is untouchable.
No, Seabrook is not on the chopping block.

Pretty much put any player into that Hawks lineup and you're pretty much a contender... the Caps? Well that's why they almost got beat by the Rangers in the playoffs two or three years ago and why they got beat by the Canadiens this year.

When your core consists of 4 top 4 d men and your two top forward lines are pretty much set... you can fill in the rest. And the guys coming in are very capable of being productive at the NHL level.
I would love to see these diagrams for the end of the season rosters for all the teams last year. Well at least all the playoff teams, it would be very interesting to see who has a bunch of turnover like the hawks. We focus on it a lot, but I would assume with trades and free agency and such, other teams have more new personnel coming in than I expect.

Rogers tweeted a couple hours ago that something will be announced about Bickell today. Of course, two hours ago he said it would be up on the Web site in a "couple of minutes". So far, nothing. Big surprise.

EDIT: There is something, here... supposedly a 3-year deal.

No. I don't think they would accommodate 4 million to keep him. I think they'll let him walk at that point because it show's where exactly his head is. If he can't compromise now to try and defend the Cup he just helped to win, then see ya.

They have many more coming back, that was just their solid core/best players. Just like I left out Hendry/Kopecky etc...

Yikes, 3 years for this guy? Nothing special about Bickell from what I've seen so far. A one year deal would have been sufficient.

You really are a negative nellie, aren't you. All posts you make are either worries or complains. No problem with a 3-year deal as long as it's at a low cap hit, which it probably is. He brings size and sandpaper that the Hawks currently lost with the mass exodus these past months. And the coaching staff were really high on him every time he was called up and I also liked what he brought when he had his chance. He could somewhat replace Buff as the big body in front of the net scoring the garbage goals.

Yeah as long as the cap hit is right I see no problem with 3 years. I saw enough of him last year to feel that he hasn't reached his potential yet and his best years are still ahead.

If this was the case, I bet you within 24 hours of the news being broke bri would be driving down the Eisenhower with Bowman's head on a pike screaming like a banshee and using his blood as war paint.

Don't get too overconfident. We will be fielding half a team of superstars and half a team of AHL players.
Haha! You could have said the same at the beginning of last season!

Just sayin'

Anyone know what time Niemi's arbitration hearing is set for and how long these things usually last? And will the decision be posted immediately?
