Uselss conference call.

Are they trying to raise the actual value of Niemi in fans minds by making it appear that he is as important of a signing as Wayne Gretzky?

What a load of garbage. People buying into this shit at all?

Not I. **** Niemi. All we need is an AVERAGE goaltender with how good our defensive system is. I honestly think that's all Niemi really is right now anyway. He has the potential to be something special, but I'm sick of the Hawks paying on potential.

It's pretty clear it was all about the Convention. To their point of view, after losing 3 fairly key players, along with quite a few other role players, they are now forced into losing their goalie. All right before the Stanley Cup Celebratory Annual Chicago Blackhawks Convention.

Does it really surprise you they are trying to do any possible damage control before said Convention? This is now looming until at least Saturday. Imagine if Niemi doesn't fit into the "Cap Space" and they have to go to plan B. Right in the middle of the Convention, this team now, after all the rest, loses it's goalie. LOL! I'm sorry but as we won the Cup I have to laugh a little. Still confident either option will work out with the "CORE" this is kinda comical.

I'm definitely hitting the "Mcdonough and Brass" seminar!!!

I wonder if they talk about how in the "RED" the organization is while mumbling about yet ANOTHER 20% increase in tickets. So we can pay for mistakes like HUET through our fairly consistent, and high, ticket increases.

Thank GOD we won the Cup. Thank God!

My increase was 45% this offseason. Makes you wonder how high this can continue to go. The first level pricing is insane now. I'll have to downgrade to the orange or grey seats at some point if this continues.

As long as there is a healthy waiting list they can go as high as the demanmd will support. Personally I'm just about at the tipping point. If they jack it ($10-15) again, I'll be looking to split my season with someone.

This arbitration process has officially become extremely tedious and boring. Can we get this thing over with already?

300 Level says there is a report that the Hawks have a backup plan in place with Turco if it doesn't work out with Niemi... 1 yr 1.5M.

I would take that. Nice and cheap. Turco at 1.5 for a year is a steal. Would also allow Crawford a legit back up roll year. Turco > Theodore in my mind.

That Price stuff will never happen. Habs are sold on Price..or that is what they keep telling us anyways.

Doable?[/quote]

That's cutting it really close. I am not sure if I like it. They could ice a 21 man roster with about 240k left.

Word is that the Hawks had offered him 3-year deal worth $2.6m a year, but he elected to go to arbitration. Was it worth it? Now there is a chance, the Hawks accept and trade him to some crap team for a something nice. And I bet that he won't post any better numbers on a worse team and that will further hurt his value on the UFA market. He can thank Zito for it.

Same dollars as the Halak contract in the 1st year. Should have come in lower given Halak has a longer resume.

Certainly not a walk away number. It's either a tight cap fit or sign and trade.
