Yea, because it is really, really hard to understand OPS and DPS. Are you even kidding me?

You always attempt to go there in an argument because you have nothing that will hold validity to say.

I understand it just fine, pretty easy to understand and I'm sure there are plenty of websites out there to explain it if I didn't. The internet, makes things pretty easy to understand if you need it.

very very amazing story you tell.

anyway, you are right about the bold............ the Rostislav Klesla NHL Statistics | Hockey-Reference.com holds the validity. Or are we going to use the "screens the goalie" stat that is kept track of by your eye test. talk about validity, do you even know what that word means hawkwriter? you latch onto players and try to hard to reassure yourself that every move the hawks make is 100% right by reaching for the off the wall stories about a player. When I mean stories, I mean your lame attempts to tell a narrative about what you see (in reality what you think you want to see) when it comes to evaluating players.

keep trying you (swear word)

I don't even care about the Klesla argument, I was simply saying that you using OPS/DPS for every argument is sad, pathetic, and shows a lack of knowledge in many ways. Stats tell very little of the story most of the time. A player like Jamal Mayers plays a very pivotal and important role in a hockey team. A fourth line like Eager/Fraser/Burish plays a very important role in a Cup run, regardless of what their OPS/DPS says.

My lame attempts to tell a narrative? I call it like I see it. I'm going to be right and I'm going to be wrong. I consider myself to have a pretty damn good eye when it comes to strengths and negatives in a player's game...you can disagree and that is fine, hell you disagree with just about everything with everyone just so you don't look like a "homer".

By the way, the bolded part...just another childish act by a 30+ year old. Impressive. Once again, you can't stick to the subject and have a solid conversation, you continually resort to tactics when the knowledge is lacking...z's included.

:fap:

anywho.....Jamal Mayers isnt "pivotal". Way to misuse that word. Since we are changing the subject on which you decided to chime in on ( what new, lets get off of Klesla topic because you are wrong again ) Klesla I guess we can talk about Mayers and how Pivotal he is shall we?

He is a 4th line player. Are their better? yes. Are there worse? yes. The 4th line isnt pivotal, it has some importance as to what type of players or loaded into those slots, but not pivotal as you call it.

ding dong? you there? good you still are. Here is whats Pivotal in no specific order. SOLID defense (not oduya), but a solid defense with balance (which we lost after Campbell was traded.(still support the deal since cap hit was big, just making sure I say that so you dont go onto a different subject since you will be wrong again with the one we are currently in) For this team the defense has to be upgraded and we need to add a Pivotal dman due to the lack of goaltending that we have.

If we dont obtain a pivotal dman than the next step is a pivotal move in obtaining an upgrade at goalie.

Now another example of a pivotal move is the 2nd line center. Do you need an explaination for this? can you fill the rest out yourself? yeah? ok.

Stop trying to make small moves look bigger than they are. using pivotal is the stupidest thing I have read in quite sometime to refer to the 4th line. There are always going to be 4th line players out there, always.

you are a (swear word) and I mean a real (swear word) to think i use "tactics"

now go play with your make believe " he screens the goalie " stat. let me know how that works out for you. #$%@

Again? :obama:

Edited: I thought there was going to be a lockout this season anyway (isn't the collective bargaining agreement up sometime before the start of the regular season -unless a new one is negotiated [and agreed to])???

I expect one, but not a long one.

Also, the sky is always falling when you know more than the guys who get paid to know hockey.

That headline is an awful quick assumption to make on May 30th. Plenty of time for a few trades to free up a ton of space.

Yes I could not agree more, bowman got something brewing.

Currently constructed, the Flyers have a more expensive D corps. At the same time, though, Pronger may have played his last game and be LTIR'd until he retires at contract's end since his is a 35+ contract.
