It was a good move on Barkley's part, however unfair it is. You know who is probably the happiest on the Giants roster? The QB.
We'll see. Brisker should take that next step and the game should slow down for him because i thought he actually played too fast last year and missed tackles because of it. E.Jackson has always played his best seasons when he's had a good box safety playing with him with A.Amos and he was good until he got hurt last year with Brisker.Brisker/Jackson?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
?!?!?!?!
Ha yeah. But what really matters is that none of it is sustainable for a QB. It's good to be able to run and 6 or 7 in the league are plenty good at it. But beyond being 'quite good' at running.. its not that important in grand scheme. So unless Fields unlocks his passing game.. he'll remain 'figured out' too.
Pat Kirwan said belichik used to put a ton of veterans on the pup at the start of camp. Mentioned if you don't start them on it, you can't add them later. So if there's any injury concern at all you do it until cleared. Also he said it gave some vets extra days off that they were already comfortable with and they'd slowly filter them off the list throughout camp
CorrectJuat to clarify. You have to add them to the PUP before training camp but once they are off they cant be added again. So Claypool can't be added again.
What Kirwan is referring to is once they are on the PUP for camp they can then be placed on the PUP for the regular season if they never came off the PUP list. That would open up a roster spot and avoid having to cut or put them on injured reserve for the whole year.
Tbf he did get a couple mil more thanks to that signing bonusSaquon: I won't sign the franchise tag!
Giants: What about now, that I show you literally the same contract?
Saquon: SOLD!
Makes sense, and hopefully is true. I'm a claypool fan and didn't see this as a red flag.
Only reason I could see placing him on the pup was what silvy said, but ESPN 1000(Mostly David Kapalan) has been wrong almost always regarding bears related news.
Couple mil more upfront. But yeah, I'm sure that made a differenceTbf he did get a couple mil more thanks to that signing bonus
Doesn’t sound like much in the world of pro sports, but reality is he bagged a couple extra million which is a lot of money stillCouple mil more upfront. But yeah, I'm sure that made a difference

It is plenty important. Defenders find it demoralizong when they defend a play well and a QB escapes for 20 yards. Hence why Fields rep among defenders is higher than fans and the media.
Defenders prefer playing pocket QBs. Easier to gameplan and defend ad you know where they will be. You also can just straight up pass rush them rather than having to play rush contain or devote a spy to them or otherwise move a guy out out of coverage. It also limits how much man or the type of man coverages you can play as can't have coverage defenders eith their backs turned if Fields breaks contain.
So it is very important. The issue is Fields has to be a good enough passing to take advantage of the above
I agree. But what im saying is... there are 6-7 good running QBs in the league and that ability is hard on a defense. And whatever % Fields is better running than those 6-7 doesnt really matter that much overall. But yes.. if you are a good passer who ALSO can run.. that's clearly the ticket. Im not advocating for Troy Aikman or Drew Bledsoe. It is plenty important. Defenders find it demoralizong when they defend a play well and a QB escapes for 20 yards. I hear you but Poles spoke well of him today.Sending a message.
Looks like the silvy comment from 6 weeks ago where he said the bears brass were not happy with claypool may be true.
Poles and co, and to be fair, even fans, know what he’s capable of. Seems like you have an issue with questioning if you have a player who truly loves football or not
LMAO watch the Giants tag him again next yearI'm guessing its implied that the Giants won't tag Barkley again next offseason?
