Yeah, absolutely. They need to find 1 long-term answer on the OL in free agency. They need to find 1 long-term answer on the DL in free agency. That still leaves holes, but if you can add a 2nd long-term piece on the OL and DL early in the draft, now you have 2 of 4 DL spots set for 3-4 years, and 4 of 5 OL spots set long-term with FA, draft pick, Jones and Jenkins. You can 1-2 year deal your way to filling the rest of the holes while you develop your other draft picks over the next 2 years. And with the additional money available this year, you can do a little better than the 1-2 year deals they did last year. Depth and starters a little bit better (and more expensive) than Muhammad, Pringle, Morrow, Justin Jones, Patrick, Reiff, and Schofield; and all of a sudden this team is looking decent. Throw in a potential trade down and adding a high 2nd along with future high picks, and this team is set up for long-term success starting in 2024. But yeah, they do have to fill a couple holes by spending long-term money.
I'm sorry, but IDK in what world Bryce Young has a higher ceiling than Fields. Trevor Lawrence is seen as a generational talent and Fields graded out 2nd to him everywhere along the way. Fields also outperformed him in an all-star game and beat him on the field. Just because teams stupidly let him fall to 11 and Young may go #1 doesn't mean Young has a higher ceiling. Fields is bigger, stronger, faster. Young was also a top recruit, won a Heisman, played in the national championship game as well. I think he’s someone that’s starting to figure things out like OLB Barrett did for Tampa Bay in 2019(although doubtful he gets 19 sacks).
I have no problem with the Bears trying to upgrade at QB, but not with a 5' 11", 195 Lb. little fella. Who was the last sub 200 Lb. QB that had a quality NFL career?

Yeah i agree. Bryce Young is an unknown right now when it comes to the next level but an unknown with a ton of potential, so to say he's better without him playing a down in the NFL is stupid. J.Fields was starting to get looked at as the best QB out of his draft class the entire first half of the year but Trevor finished the year very well and IMO put himself back to being the top QB in that class with Fields the easy second.
