Leslie Frazier stepping down for a year. Solid DC but simply not creative enough in this league to make defenses better than what is given to him in terms of talent.

There is no way Washington can keep Jonathan Allen, Montez Sweat, Chase Young and Da'Ron Payne at their current/future pricetags. One of them will become available.
They can right at this very moment but it won't last long. Sportrac has them above the cap by $16.5M. As soon as they need money to invest in other positions, something will have to happen there.

It isn't hard to imagine that happening. They just need to look at FA for a starting QB for that leeway to go away.

Yeah, but Chase Young isn't living up to the hype he was drafted at. He could easily be the odd man out.
Especially before they have to make a decision on his fifth year option.

The problem is sixteenth is a long way to move down and Washington is a sneaky-good team, especially if they a quarterback. They make much more sense as a team the Bears trade down with a second time. But if the right deal presents itself...

They got panned across the media I believe and it worked well for them. Just another example of why you need to wait before you grade drafts and offseason moves.
Wrong. We must grade all decisions before ever getting any statistical results. It only makes sense.

Doesnt actually mean their cap problems are over. They just kicked the can down the road. They have limited ability to add players beyond the draft.

It's so weird because I was told by many bright individuals on this board that the jaguars really fcked themselves and made terrible off season moves last year.

Having to move money around just to keep mid level players like Engram and Key isnt exactly a huge win for them. Especially with a Lawrence deal coming.

Lawrence will keep them afloat but they have spent a ton and dont really have any true blue chip players outside of Lawrence. Obviously the hope is they can develop some.

How many times do we have to see teams in “cap hell” successfully maneuver out of it before we realize it’s overrated?

I mean yes the cap exists. Yes it affects what teams do. But it’s also severely overblown every year.
