Tbf the projection of your team that year should be taken into account and anyone with any football sense should have known this team was going to be picking high.

It was bad value before the second we found out it was the bears 2nd pick.
And it was after they sold off two defensive starters.

He’s not a highlight real QB… but he just finds the open guy and hits him in stride. If I was Poles and we didn’t have Fields I would have announced the damn pick already. I absolutely love his game and think he has top 10 QB written all over him.

(Of course now I’ve probably cursed the poor kid)
My only concern with Stroud(and I admit it’s a concern he can’t control) is he’s had superior WR talent to work with and doesn’t have the mobility that fields does for example

"This free agent class looks really bad. Hmmm...maybe I should give away my second pick?"

This GM is a fucking hopeless moron. Sad for the Bears, thank god we get to watch Arlington Heights unravel before the incompentence of the McCaskey family and their "stadium nerd" team president.
The stadium move is the best thing George ever did.

Realistically what would Chase Claypool fetch in a trade today? Maybe a conditional sixth or seventh?

You have got to be the least intelligent poster on ccs in terms of football. Makes sense since you basically said watching tape is a waste of time.

This is a very good TE class. Washington is a physical freak, but he doesn't do anything that Kmet hasn't already done at the NFL level.

He's an inline blocking TE. If anything bears should be looking at Luke Musgrave and Dalton Kincaid. Those are the two Flex/slot guys at the top rounds.
I think that he provides value even if some of it is similar to Kmet, and I think he has the athletic skills to develop further as a pro. He is a rare athlete among rare athletes and I'd be excited to see Poles make a bet on him.

Well almost no one has that mobility. But he IS mobile. It’s like comparing a Corvette to a F1 car. There’s fast…. And then there is FAST.

Honestly, isn't this the same argument than with Fields?

The majority of top college QB prospects have top WR prospects...Just not to the level that CJ did there.

CJ got to play with 4 potential top 15 pick WR's. Thats crazy talk!

Okay, except one of them was a top 10 NFL TE in fantasy last year and is already on the bears.

Inline TE is one of the hardest positions to develop in the nfl and takes the most time.

The hate kmet gets on here is astonishing. He's finally catching TE's so lets replace him wtih a college TE who only caught 3.

Not saying Washington isnt or cant be a good NFL player, but you'd literally be replacing Kmet with the same type of player.
I dont think Washington will replace Kmet. If we keep the same style of play as what Eberflus and Getsy want, then this is a running team. Having two TEs that can block really well is a net plus for the team imo.

3-5 at that time and that was not the nfls worst

the trade wasn't made to put them over the top in a super bowl year and i think they knew that before the trade was made. pick 32 doesn't guarantee JSN or a good player for that matter. they saw the wr fa class was weak and made a move.

fun to play as captain hindsight but at the time fans were begging for more help at the WR position and would have criticized poles for sitting on his hands before the trade deadline

@Montucky should put in his resume to be an NFL GM based on all this hindsight knowledge he has from his couch.

He also won’t waste his time doing stupid stuff like watching tape or scouting. (His words)

But they only ran the ball because this oline couldnt pass block worth shit on a regular/consistent basis.....

I heavily doubt that is the offense Getsy wants to run. But yea, having both kmet and him would be like having 7 offensive lineman. There were times when Kmet was outplaying borom at tackle last year, lol.

So Allbright said people were talking about Atlanta as the most likely team if this came to be.

That would leave the Ravens needing a QB with pick 8 & 22 plus an extra 1st next year.

Would seem like a good trading partner to me. (Yes I know, lots of dominos and not likely. Just another scenario to consider)
A lot of people said that before Albright ever did.

They employed a dedicated fullback last year. I think every TE that makes the roster has to be a good run blocker or he won't see the field. Additionally, I would say that being limited in the slot doesn't mean he can't be moved to the slot for a couple routes that are in his set.

Doing everything well from the slot will take time and development, and he doesn't have the athletic limitations that say he won't be agile enough to get better. Just that right now, Washington has a developed skill set that would help him see the field more often inline.
