Your wording came off a bit snide, but maybe I misread your tone. Yes he had a good year. He was very good at run blocking, but below average as a pass protector. Just because he started last year on a torn down team does not mean they won't address the LT position at all. I do agree that there are more areas to cover with decent starter level talent, but I personally would not be happy if they didn't bring in someone to compete with him. Competition brings the best out of everyone. Iron sharpens iron. That's all I'm saying.

He had a 70.5 pass block grade from PFF so not really below average.

Boomer translation please.
Somebody says MVP of the league (Lamar Jackson) is being treated like he's unproven (not getting what he's asked for and gets franchise tagged).

Brisker responds "other bruh" assumed to be Daniel Jones got paid (his $160M extension) and he is trash (not a good player).

The purpose of the RAS is to project what a guy may be able to do in the NFL.

If a guys has 3-4 years of experience in the NFL the film should say it all.

It is not a projection. It is designed to measure their athleticism. The outside zone requires athletic OL hence why our current OL coach drafted McGary for an outside zone scheme and hence why most of Poles OL picks have had high RAS scores.

So it is still useful as a rough approximation as to scheme fit. For example, McGary has a high RAS score while Orlando Brown's is 0.72 so it is perhaps an indication that McGary fits the Bears system more than Brown does. Obviously teams do film study but it is a quick and easy toll for a message board poster.

It’s entirely a projection used to help determine how players MIGHT fit. I’m sure we could find many players with high RAS scores that simply didn’t make it in the NFL, and some players with decent RAS scores that are good pros.

If a guy has 4 years in the league just throw the RAS out and see how he was with the 4 fckn years of tape the guy has from playing in the NFL.

Look at that RAS tho!!!

We reached peak RASturbation when people started wanting to draft Jaxon Smith-Njigba at fourth overall because he scored high without even running the forty yard dash.

Pretty cringe we are still looking at RAS score for guys that have been in the league lmao
It is completely stupid and lazy. These guys could be in entirely different shape now vs. four years ago. But honestly who can be expected to really follow the Atlanta Falcons well enough to really know what's going on with Kaleb McGary? We're all just guessing. Nobody watches that garbage team enough to really be able to pick up on what they have going on at right tackle.

Where's the RAS score that showed Velus Jones had stone hands?

If Fields biggest flaw is taking what the defense gives him and accepting checkdowns, Barkley is the guy to help fill that gap. He doesn't have to carry the team either with Herbert and Fields both leading the NFL in YPC over 100 attempts. Split him out as a slot to run routes/screens/lead block.

Barkley graded out as PFF's best pass blocking back last season.

I did not know that he was that good in pass protection.

Lamar Jackson being disrespected cause he ain't getting what he wants while Daniel Jones gets paid or some such stupidity.
The Giants didn't want to lose Barkley and Jones agent knew he had the Giants by the balls. They couldn't afford to tag Jones and give Barkley 12 mil a year. The only way they could keep both was to overpay Jones and backload his deal then tag Barkley. I don't think you can compare Jackson's position to Jones. The money Carr and Geno got put the Packers in the drivers seat regarding what the Jets have to give up to get Rodgers. It also allowed Jones to hold firm to his demands forcing the Giants hand. All this helps the value of the Bears #1 pick. Team are realizing more and more that it takes money or draft picks to get a QB and you don't win without one.

The teams are already colluding against Jackson.

Notice how many tweets have come out about teams not being interested in L Jackson right after he was tagged

Or maybe they're just smart enough to not shell out over $30 million and 2 1st round picks, that is unless you are being sarcastic.

much more to it then that. lamar jackson is catching a stray bullet in a fight between the owners and the nflpa and fully guaranteed contracts, the agents also dont want to see lamar succeed because he doesnt have an agent.

The non exclusive tag is only 35 million, and someone will offer him more than that, so, while he might not get what he asks, he will not be stuck playing on the tag, unless he chooses to go the Kirk Cousins route.......
Except he wants to get paid more than Watson who signed a fully guaranteed 5 years $230M contract. Watson's cap number in each of the next 4 years is $55M
